Captivating but not without serious faults
I liked very much that both games - The Haunt and The Haunt 2 - have very challenging puzzles and quests. I liked that you cannot pick up objects until you come to the point you realize that you need them for a puzzle or a quest (guns- in Haunt 2, potion ingredients- in Haunt). I also liked that you have to figure out the puzzle objectives on your own (although some of them were sometimes confusing).
My suggestions for future games
(1) Would've been nice to have a hint button for jigsaw puzzle pieces because I had a lot of trouble locating them since they were different sizes in the first game. (2) I realize, that it is a night time in the game and everything is white, black, and gray, but adding colors in indoor locations at least would be a nice touch. (3) When combining the images (especially sliding tiles) would've been proper to see them in other locations first just to have an idea what is your final image looks like. It is challenging to place them in order in the first place, but when you don't even know what you are aiming for - it is impossible without a cheating or skipping a puzzle.
Both games kept freezing frequently. I had to get out of the game and open it again to go forward. Another serious fault was disappearing of the sound almost immediately in the beginning.
Despite all, I liked both games and would definitely buy another one.
Eh...it is so so
The graphics are a nice treat, although I was hoping for something a little more creepy/spooky. I thought the ghosts were cartoony enough not to be scary.
I liked this game at first, I really did. I enjoyed the majority of the puzzles. It wasn't until near the end that I felt in danger of smashing my iPad in frustration. I had to painstakingly retrace my steps with the walkthrough to find the last few puzzle pieces. That was pretty excruciating!
Also, I didn't understand what the coin collection did for me. I collected them all but didn't notice any reward for it.
This game is a good way to kill time I suppose. I beat it immediately before writing this review. My review would have been much better if I had written it when I first started the game. I found getting to the end to be very cumbersome. After collecting everything I needed to collect to finally get there, there wasn't much left to the game. It felt like the ending was rushed and sloppy. I feel unsatisfied and let down.
I am giving this game 3 stars. I was entertained enough to stick it out until the end (although I regret it now). The graphics were very well done. I wish the story was better developed and more engaging. I really wish I could have skipped those darned puzzle pieces!
Don't force me onto Facebook!!
Loved The Haunted; enjoying Haunted 2. Intelligent, challenging, clever, fun to play. So I have all but one war photo. And I can't find the last and can't go farther without it. Go to walkthrough and discover I have to sign-in to Facebook to get the help I need. NO WAY! Cheap, crass, commercial trick...and I'm not doing it. So I wasted my money on this game and I feel CHEATED. I don't "like" it...if you get my pun. I just want to play a quiet game..I don't want to be part of one billion sharing folks. Back to Big Fish, I guess, where all the thinking is done for me. FRUSTRATING! I'm so disappointed.
OK, my one-star rating was unfair so I've changed it.
..much better game than that, but please don't rely on Facebook. Thanks!
