Description

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ We are very happy to announce the release of our new, full-length, adventure game, Forever Lost!

Please check it out here - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/forever-lost-episode-1-hd/id542364897?ls=1&mt=8 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

The Hauntening is a Horror Mystery themed Puzzle game aimed at ages 9+.

It was created for a 48 hour game development competition but we are releasing it for free to see if there is much demand for this type of thing in the marketplace.

Techority 48 Hour Competition - http://techority.com/techority-48-hour-challenge-2012/

There was not enough time in the competition to make an inventory so using an item is automatic assuming you have tapped on a part of a room that requires an item you have.

If there is enough interest in this app then we will consider making a full app in a similar style. So please give us your feedback and ratings. Thanks.

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Important note: This is a VERY short game, it was made in 48 hours as part of a competition and as such has only around 10 minutes of gameplay. ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

Customer Reviews

Short, sweet, and unexpected.

No, it's not the best nor the longest game in the world and it certainly isn't very polished, but then again the developers have been quite honest about its shortcomings. That said, they did a pretty darn good job for a game that took two days to make.

The atmosphere was great, quite creepy, especially background noises and lighting. I thought the dark bits were done to especially good effect. Feeling your way around with a very limited light source is the stuff of claustrophobic nightmares. The puzzles were a bit too simple, but I suspect that goes with the age rating. I could definitely see where it would have benefitted from the addition of an inventory, certainly pace-wise. As far as story and gameplay goes, there were a couple of places that surprised me and several places that made me chuckle outright. The ending was quite unexpected and I'm a sucker for a good twist. :) All in all I'd say that's pretty good for a game that took less than 10 minutes to play through. I was certainly entertained.

A great start and worth the download, especially considering that it's free. On that note, I suggest that you check out the developer's other adventure, Forever Lost: Episode 1. It's got the polish that this one lacks while keeping the same creepiness, cleverness, and sense of humor.

Hauntening review

I just played the Hauntening. I think it has a lot of potential and would probably purchase a full version, based upon the Lost Forever games alone, which I really enjoyed. I would, however, ease back on the amount of heckling by the ghost, it becomes a bit tedious listening to him constantly. The solitary atmosphere is pleasantly creepy, and the puzzles seemed interesting. I especially liked having to strike the match against the wall to light it. That took me a while to figure out. Obviously an inventory would be nice, but it worked just fine without it. I am a true adventure game fan and seek out these types of games, unfortunately there aren't as many as there use to be, so I would like to encourage you to continue with this one. If your other games turn out to be like the Lost Forever games, I will happily keep on playing!
Good luck!

Make More Scary/Horror Puzzle Games Please!

I played this and Forever Lost. I'm a horror fan and I love puzzle games. These games are a great combination of both. Make more please! To answer your question...Yes, I feel there is an audience for scary puzzle games! Make more please!

A suggestion: Instead of having static images (along the lines of Myst when it first came out), I suggest you make the game dynamic, where you can actually walk and it's a video as opposed to images. I feel that having dynamic gameplay will immerse the player into the game on a much deeper level and will completely add more to the horror experience and the gameplay in general.

I think this dev hit on a great niche. Keep up the good work!
