The Lost Watch 3D is probably the most unusual animated wallpaper you'll ever see. An absent-minded traveler dropped his golden pocket watch while crossing a river. A few coins fell out as well. Years went by, but the timepiece is still working just fine even though there is no one to wind it up.

Awesome but heavy on CPU and reduces Battery life! Please give option to deactivate animation!
I really like this active wallpaper however there is a major downside! When running as active background it will increase your CPU load and temp considerably, which means when you are on battery power on your MacBook Pro (as I am), it will reduce your battery life and increase CPU and memory load.
Unfortunately the developers did not include the option to turn off the water animation! That water animation is respondsible for the dramatic CPU temp increase.
Example: Running on idle with normal background picture my CPU temp is around 45-48c. Running the Lost 3D watch background will increase the average CPU temp to 58-65c. So you are looking at an add. 15-20c increase!
So please, can you guys at 3planesoft PLEASE include an option where you can turn the water animation off!? That would be really great and then i would give this app a 5 star rating!!!
I love it, but it's not much more than the free version
It really is a breathtaking background app. It's quiet and the graphsics, although startlingly real, are not distracting from whatever work you've got going on. A few options to play with for sound and visuals. And it's nice to have a "locket" into which you can place a photo (it gets sepia'd to match the color tones in the background).
At $1.99, you really can't go wrong. The free version gives you everything except:
1) the option to change color tones btwn "gold" and "silver"
2) the locket and photo
So I'd suggest starting with free and either upgrading if you -really- want the photo option, -really- want the gold option, or (as I did) -really- think the developers deserve some money for their hard work.
I was far MORE impressed with the paid version of dolphins, giving you more bang for your buck over the free version.
Life in Proper Perspective
In my home office workspace, I often had a clock on the wall (also my desk, my phone, etc) to keep track of time. All of these other clocks are gone now, in favor of this one, and I am more productive for the change. Lost Watch is perfect for putting time, and life, in proper perspective. The ability to turn features on and off will provide variety and control…the random patterns of the leaves floating by, and the hypnotizing water ripples, will comfort a crowded mind. I put a picture of my wife, in the optional picture frame, for additional perspective. I look forward to additional features and updates from 3Planesoft.
