Fanfiction App Review

I love this app. I really do appreciate all of the hard work that goes into these stories. I would also like to add that having the ability to read Fan Fiction without sitting at a computer all day is really nice and being able to read stories that you either have in your favorites list or stories that you are currently reading are available without WI-FI. So overall, I highly recommend this app for any one who like Fan Fiction.

Version 3.9

This app use to be great. Between the user friendly interface, the controls and options for stories, and everything else that this app use to have. The newest update basically screwed it all up. The user friendly interface is gone with no way of accessing it, half of the controls are gone and were replaced with options that make little to no sense, and the stories themselves are loaded with problems. You would lose your place at the brand new interface would either put you in some random place in the story or at the bottom of the page, the forward and back buttons are gone now which made readier that much easier, and the new font that replaced the old one just looks unappealing on top of the complicated user interface with lots of problems. Syncing the app can be frustrating between not having an indication of how long it'll takeIt would take so much time to I used to love this app, and I will love it again once there changes are undone and fixed.

Latest update terribly flawed.

I've been using this app for a couple of years now. I'm glad I got in on a "rate it and get a free upgrade" deal. I'd be even more upset if I'd paid for it. I can sum it up easily. They took away the forward and back buttons. I agree with what another reviewer said. It was a simple, usable interface, and they prettied it up and made it almost unusable. To be fair, I have an IPhone 5c, so it could be I'm just left behind by IPhone 6 customizations. Also, you either can't log into your FF account, or put up with long sync delays which you have no control o we as there's not a way to turn them off unless you just don't log in. Sync time is based on the number of stories you have and it has to check every one for updates every time. It locks the reader while doing this while not providing any visual cue what's going on. Add in having to hunt for your place because it randomly decides where you were and the new chapter interface puts you at the bottom of the next chapter, well, it's almost unusable. I'd stick with the free version or look for something that allows you to actually enjoy your FF offline. /rant.

A solid app with the potential to be great

Overall, this is a very functional app that makes reading fics much more convenient.

I hate being tied to a laptop while reading, especially while reading anything longer than a few paragraphs. In the past, I used tools like fan fiction downloader to create ebooks, but obviously that means that updates require checking for new chapters and then downloading an entirely new copy-- definitely not ideal. This app not only solves that problem, it automatically creates the offline copy for reading on-the-go. That said, it's not a perfect app: for example, as other reviewers have mentioned, the search tool is sometimes buggy, and I haven't yet found an ideal way to navigate directly to fics when coming from a browser to the app. But in general, the app is very useful and definitely a lot more efficient than reading in a browser. If you're a fanfic fan, I encourage you to give it a try.
