Great idea poor execution
Sep 7 version says basic bugs fixed...but the alarm still doesn't go off. Am I expected to keep my display on all night in order for the alarm to go off? Huge waste of battery if so, and not a long term option. Please fix!! Love The Rock and would love to use this alarm clock daily...once it starts working properly as an alarm clock.
Update: figured out where the exact bug is. It seems okay if the screen is off, as long as app was open and sleep mode in the app is activated...and the phones do not disturb function is not turned on. This is a really basic flaw because the point of the do not disturb function is to keep text messages, updates etc from making sounds at night when you're sleeping...the iphones alarm clock works fine with do not disturb on, so why not this alarm clock?
Could be better
First of all, the fact that you have to put your phone into "sleep mode" while in the app in order for it to ring, is just ridiculous. Your phone still pulls the notifications from "The Rock", which end up as text displayed on your screen saying things like "it's time to get up" and "alright I tried" in reference to waking you up --- what happens if you forget to enter AND acknowledge sleep mode before you go to bed at night ? No alarm, that's what! And heaven forbid you push the "sleep" button that's physically on your phone (iPhone in my case) because again.... No alarm.
Then, what makes it worse? The developer leaves NO WAY to send messages regarding complaints or feedback.... You're directed to the website for more information, and the website simply directs you to the privacy policy and Dwayne's Facebook fan page + Twitter.....
How are users suppose to identify complaints with the development team ?
Neat concept for fans, but terrible execution.
Really needs improvement
I think this would be the best alarm app ever except for one major flaw. The whole "sleep mode" concept is complete crap. I don't know why they didn't just make it like every other alarm app and have it always stay activated, but the alarms won't actually take full effect unless the app is completely open and in "sleep mode" which completely robs the app of its practicality. If this can be fixed, this would probably be my favorite app ever, the concept of being woken up by the one and only Rock Johnson makes me very happy. But unfortunately, I can't small what he's cooking.
