Customer Reviews

What's up with everyone?

Why are there not like a million reviews here? This game is awesome! I really dug the whole atmosphere and I thought it had the perfect world size. In a lot of western rpgs there's a lot of aimless trekking back and forth where u just watch your character run but I didn't notice that as much here (ahem Aralon). I recently beat Shadow Sun and want more from whoever made this. I also had no trouble with controls but I've been playing ios for a while so that may have something to do with it. I never got a weapon that made it stupidly easy. I never felt like giving up but was sufficiently challenged and interested.

Perhaps the one drawback I can think of was I felt the final boss was easier than I expected but up until then I was challenged enough.

I gotta say in my experience this game right here and Bastion are my favorites on ios. I paid like 6.99 or 7.99 or something and got a good 10ish hours of gameplay. I'd totally recommend this to anyone who finds most wrpgs kinda boring or even wrpg fans. It's like the perfect medium. And I also liked how you can pretty much get by with a sword or a mace (as I did) and use some range magic rather than being forced into using range weapons due to difficulty.

So to whoever made this game, keep at it because I need something fun to play on my ipad now that I beat this and all the other good ones! I guess I gotta replay the Chaos Rings and FF ports until y'all make something else.

Leaves you wanting more...

Played game all the way through on a 5c with out crashes, bugs or issues. For me, the strengths in this game lie in the music, atmosphere, lore and looting. Shadow Sun succeeds in creating its own little world with a large background. A nice aspect of the game was a lack of auto-spawning. There is nothing more annoying than playing a game where you can sit and watch enemies appear every 30 seconds from the same spot. I think the developers choice to avoid this added to the experience.

I think think the only complaint or suggestion i have would be to rebalance the combat system to increase difficulty or the strategy needed to take down foes.

This game was a great experience and worth playing... It hints at a possible sequel, I honestly hope they make it.

Utter Disappointment

First off, this game isn't 10 hours. I finished it in six hours. I did all of the side quests, explored every nook and cranny, and still didn't come close to the advertised time length. I paid 99 cents for this awhile back and only just got to playing it in the last few days.

Anyway, the story is boring. The world lore is uninteresting, as are the characters. What little voice acting there is is poor. The graphics are not very good considering the long development time The environments are small, bland, and empty. The AI, both partner and enemy, is terrible. They all stand still and do virtually nothing other than spam poison attacks. There's very little to do in this game other than repetitive fetch quests and a lot of backtracking. The environments are all generic and identical to one another. I get that the game takes place in a desert, but come on. Put some life and scenery in the game. Combat is overly simplistic and easy.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. I had moderate hopes for it, but it didn't meet even my lowest expectations. Buy Aralon instead, or Ravensword. They're both way better than this overrated game. It doesn't even have a proper ending.

I didn't buy any IAPs, but I doubt those extra missions could save this utter failure of a game. Don't waste your time or money. I wouldn't bother with any games this dev makes in the future.
