Background Story -------------------------------------------------
It’s 1972. Love is free. Flipflops, English leather and bandanas are the height of fashion. Meanwhile the Cold War is more than lukewarm and a real one is going on overseas. Movements are happening. Environmentalists, the female liberties movement, and on the dance floors an entirely different kind of movement is overtaking the underground clubs. The winds of change are certainly blowing over the country.
Somewhere in the big city, in a tall, faceless government building someone left a window open. All the winds of change are doing here is blowing leaves all over Joe’s newly-swept floor. He’s been there for two years now. Working a dead-end attendant job making sure the building is as spotless as the suits walking the halls. It’s been like this for years, going from one soul-devouring job to the next.
Our protagonist is Joe in more than just name. He is quite literally Joe Average. Average height, average weight, average IQ. In fact, the only thing remotely remarkable about him is exactly how much he conforms to the median of the hypothetical everyman, and up until this point, Joe’s life hasn't exactly been biography material.
This is all about to change...

Very cool game, but too short for the cost
This is absolutely an incredible game/story. It was engrossing. You can play the first episode for free, then it's $5.99 to keep playing. I assumed that there would be many more episodes, given the cost - which is quite high for an app. There was one more episode, which was as great as the first one - till the end. The end was just sort of abrupt and didn't resolve the storyline. This was the kind of story that could've kept going with more episodes, but the app made it clear that the game was finished. Although I enjoyed the game, I wouldn't have paid $5.99 for just a few hours of game time had I known. Even though the quality of the game is 4 or 5 stars, I'm giving it two stars for charging almost $6 for a few hours of game play, especially since it's not a game that you can play again with different results or anything like that. Perhaps they will decide to continue the story & let us unlock new episodes for $.99 or something. That would make a huge difference.
Amazing game! One of a kind, unfortunately for me...
This is such an incredible game I've found myself skimming the App Store for something, anything, like it. Unfortunately over the past few years nothing has compared & I just lose interest after a while.
If you're a mature player, not really into drawing guns and shooting aliens then this game might be right up your alley. It's mysterious, aesthetic, well-written and keeps you thinking about what's to come when you're not playing.
I loved Myst when it came out in the 90's, now we have The Silent Age. I hope I don't have to wait another 20 years before something as good as this game comes along.
Complaining about $5?
I haven't even played this game yet but for the people complaining about spending $5 seriously need to get a life. I've played lots of the other pay2win games and games like game of war charge over. $122,000 USD for their entire IAP economy. Obviously nobody is spending that but it's just a proof of concept that the person that pays the most money does the best in the game. Making it more like a casino where nobody leaves with any winnings.
I'm excited to play this game and think that I can actually succeed spending $5 and not be bombarded with ad after ad to spend $100 after I just spent $100 five seconds ago.
