The Star-Ledger is the largest newspaper serving NJ and ranks among the top newspapers nationwide. With the largest newsroom in the state, it is distinguished for its outstanding coverage of the Statehouse, sports, politics, business and the arts.
Covering the dense market between the New York City and Philadelphia metros, The Star-Ledger’s colorful style and exhaustive commitment to public service has helped win it countless industry awards, including three Pulitzer Prizes in the past 11 years. It also received the General Excellence Award from the New Jersey Press Association last year, as well as Best in Show in the NJPA Photography competition.
Dozens of Star-Ledger journalists, eight award-winning columnists and a growing cadre of photo and video experts spread across NJ every day to deliver the story for more than 1.5 million readers in a state that is home to the nation’s highest property taxes and poorest city.
The iPad edition of The Star-Ledger is all-new by 5:00 a.m. every day. It’s searchable, portable and allows you access to all regional editions right on your iPad.
Bottom line, it’s the best reporting on New Jersey, available to you anytime and anywhere you want.

What's New in Version 2.5.1
As someone who is always on the move, having the paper on my iPad fits my lifestyle and encourages me to read the paper more often. However I do not understand why I have to sign in each time I open the app, though. I called the Star Ledger. One person said to try deleting the app and then reinstalling it. That didn't work. The next person said to ask Apple. When I pointed out that Apple didn't make the app, that the app is from someone they sourced, she had nothing more to say except she never heard of this problem and it wasn't them. So it would get three or four stars for being a forward thinking concept but only one star for being a deficient app and unsatisfying customer service.
Loved the app until this week. Now crashes when opening
I have used this app daily since it became available. However, this week it stopped working. Last used successfully on Sunday, October, 18th. Tried using multiple times on the 21st and 22nd and it crashes immediately when trying to open the app. I called Star Ledger today to report the issue and was left so long on hold I hung up. Using iOS 9 on iPad Air.
no answers from Star Ledger
Don't waste your time getting this. I also liked the app previously when it worked but all of a sudden it stopped working and asked that I sign in which I did but it would not accept my password. When I called the Star ledger, they didn't have a clue. Another reason to drop buying this paper besides their very liberal and biased viewpoint. If I have to pay more per month for this app - no thanks.
