Interesting Twists on the Normal.
I'm a fan of all "Creature" based stories, but this one has truly peeked my interest. Before I start, I should point out that I don't say creature as a bad thing. It is my way of describing any person or animal of the magical and not the natural. But back to the topic at hand. This tale has a different perspective than most, since it places creatures as victims and not monsters. A tale of either love, friendship, or more between a human and a creature is really astonishing. I find this a truly spectacular tale, one that deserves multiple different reads and tellings. Have fun, I have more tales to enjoy!!🐉🐲
This story does an excellent job creating characters and atmosphere. It creates a very interesting world, that to be honest, I would like to see more of.
The only issue I have with it is that there seems to be a lot of underutilized mechanics, and the replay value, while good, is bogged down by the in-depth narrative. You can learn all these "special skills" and buy new outfits, and it takes a while and some planning to earn them, but they do not amount to much.
The replay value all comes in experiencing the story with each of the separate characters, which just basically turns it into a dating sim. You have to bogg through a lot of the early narrative, which is fine, but just is a waste.
All in all you have a fantastic story, fascinating characters, with a nice focus on non stat based mechanics. It's weak point is some of those mechanics are underwhelming, and the replay value is left behind by the narrative.
Four out of five, glad I paid for it.
The writing is stilted, the story cliche, and the choices non-existent. Choice Games will publish anything that's submitted because people keep buying everything and this is a prime example. If the author wanted to write a first-person vampire story they should have just done that, instead of throwing in the occasional "choice" and calling it a game. The writing is for the most part technically correct but at only the most basic, boring level. It feels awkward, as if english isn't their first language. If that's the case, fine, but hire an editor and maybe the company should enact some sort of quality control.
