What's New in Version 1.0.1
- Bug fixes to Hexagon & Wooden Shapes
- Small text adjustments
I could forgive the puzzles that were more luck than skill or intuition. I could even forgive the semi-random win-some-lose-some cutscenes. What I cannot forgive is how secretive Mojo Bones has been with the final puzzle solution. Based on their own FaceBook page comments, I can safely say that I'm not alone in my frustration. The cryptic hints they gave were less than helpful (some symbols are fake, but how can you tell which, without maybe restarting the game from scratch?), and any requests for further assistance (even privately) were pretty much ignored. Good puzzle games make one feel rewarded by their struggle to the solution; not everyone will spot every solution without a prompt, but that's no reason to keep them from finishing a game they otherwise completed the bulk of! I only feel frustrated, and will continue to feel so even if I were given the solution as of now. Last time I intend to buy anything from Mojo Bones, if this is how they treat their customers.
Final map encouragement
Good follow up to the Curse, but contains some very aggravating moments, most famously the final map puzzle. Some often complain that it is unsolvable, and that MojoBones is oddly secretive regarding its solution. I fell into this camp for quite some time, being utterly bewildered by the solution for months, and scouring Google some nights to see if anyone had posted the solution (as far as I know, no one has). My fiancée and I (who played the game together) finally cracked the map one night, and we can attest that while the clues are very cryptic, they DO tell you everything you need to know... Although it may take you a while to figure out what they're trying to tell you. If you're one of many who can't solve it, I do encourage you to keep trying, as the victory is very much worth it.
I have completed the bulk of the game. I am having trouble with the final map to solving it as a jigsaw puzzle. I haven't even made it to the other parts of the map the people are complaining about. Mojo bones has been very secretive about the map solution. I have asked them on the Facebook page for help and have been ignored. I would love to give this game more than one star. I can't however because of how they are treating their customers. It is a good game until you hit the final puzzle.
