Not the traditional Roman Catholic version
While this is a beautiful app, the stations do not follow the traditional Roman Catholic stations These are a variation based on a variation set of eleven stations ordered in 1799 for use in the diocese of Vienne. The original Vienne variation is as follows: the Agony in the Garden; the betrayal by Judas;the scourging; the crowning with thorns;Christ condemned to death; He meets Simon of Cyrene; the women of Jerusalem; He tastes the gall; He is nailed to the cross; His death on the cross; and His body is taken down from the cross. This variation add some others - denial by Peter, etc. The prayers and Scripture readings are nice and contemplative. However, if you are looking for the ones you know from church, this is not your app.
I like this version
Speaking as a Lutheran, I like this version of the stations of the cross. My own parish has done the traditional version before, and I have no qualms with the traditional version. But I love the fact that this version's stations are entirely from the Bible. It helps me focus on why Jesus died, and that is a good thing.
Way of the Cross
Great app but I had to delete it several times to get the language, color, font and font size that I wanted. The dials are almost impossible to work with so I set the language and the other settings I just settled for the closest to what I wanted. Frustrating to set that is the reason for only 3 stars. MAE
