We all think we’re going to live forever, but when emergencies happen, it’s best to have all of the paperwork prepared in advance. This includes legal docs such as power of attorney, medical directive and a will. Additionally, if that person (or you) becomes hospitalized or fully incapacitated, there are legal, financial and medical issues that need to be addressed such as stopping automatic payments, providing the social security number and medical record number to the hospital, paying bills, etc. When you are busy dealing with the medical situation, it’s invaluable to have all of the paperwork in order, in advance.
When you’re in the situation of caring for a friend or family member, it’s good to be able to comprehensive resource material, laying out the various issues, problems and situations that may arise. There’s a detailed, clickable list of supplies that you can have delivered prior to need.
Getting your life paperwork and numbers in order isn’t high on the fun list, but it’s invaluable when it’s suddenly needed.
