The ThermaQ App allows you to monitor multiple temperatures remotely when used with the ThermaQ® Blue or ThermaQ® WiFi from ThermoWorks.
ThermaQ reads multiple temperatures and provides simple-to-set high and low alarms. The App includes programmable alerts and notifications to prompt changes and also logs data from any probes to a graph. For further analysis ThermaQ can export saved data as an Excel (.csv) file.

I’ve been a thermoworks fan for years. Some time ago I heard they were developing the ThermaQ WiFi and I decided to wait patiently until it was released rather than spend my money on a competitors product. I do a ton of “low and slow” smoking on my Big Green Egg and was excited for their latest product. While the ThermaQ WiFi is great, the integration with this app is not.
I’ve had connectivity issues where I continually have to reconnect to my ThermaQ WiFi and now, with the latest app release I can no longer see the graphical trends of my temps unless I keep my phone or iPad on continuously- as soon as the app goes to the background or the lock screen turns on that feature turns off. I’m severely disappointed as this was one of the main features I was excited to use- continual data being gathered of my cool without me having to stare at the app the entire time.
Sure the app is free, but my ThermaQ WiFi cost over $250. So very disappointing to me that I spent so much money on a device that is essentially useless now to me. Please fix this soon!
Need to work in the background.
At first I thought it was my Wi-Fi network but turns out the app is just not ready. Does not work unless the app is in the foreground the entire time and does not go into phone lock. Really needs to work in be background to be useful. Considering returning the Wi-Fi thermometer because of this. Will give the latest update to the app a try. If it does not fix the issue I’ll have to return it.
I gave the thermometer and app a try again for turkey day. I updated the firmware (can download from their site). Firmware update was easy and went without a hitch. I had also purchased a Wi-Fi extender to improve Wi-Fi reception in the yard. I was first disappointed that the thermometer would not connect to my 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network. Only when I turned off the Wi-Fi extender did the thermometer connect properly. Once connected the experience was indeed much better than when this product was first released and I tried using it. Much more stable.. Updated temps reliably.
I’m happy they are releasing new versions of the app and also firmware for the device. Means there is hope.
I hope they fix whatever issue is causing it not to connect to my netgear ex8000 tri band Wi-Fi extender.

I don't like adding to all these negative reviews but it's true , I am using it for the first time and have lost my connection several times already . I asked thermoworks before I bought it about the bad reviews and they said as long as I have a good wifi connection it will work fine, well that's not exactly true because I have a good wifi connection , I will fix this review to a higher rating as soon as they fix there connection problem .
