What's New in Version 1.6.3
The 1.6.3 update fixes an issue where measurements could not be shared on iOS 8 and where measurements may be sorted wrong in the history.
The update also fixes an issue where measurements were not exported correct from the history.
New in version 1.6:
- Optimized for iOS 8
- Optimized for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
- Various bug fixes and improvements
Note: Due to some technical difficulties with iCloud sync on iOS 8, we have had to disable it for now while we are investigating other options.
Works well but don't expect miracles
I have had my device for a couple of years and it gives accurate temperatures. That is because I use a 4" phone jack extension that accommodates both speakers and mic (it needs all channels) to move the sensor away from my phone. If you don't do that it will read high! Be realistic. The sensor gives the temperature of what it is near. That means if you expect to use it with your phone in your pocket, you will be disappointed.
It seems to be simple in concept and design. It shouldn't need a manual, but FAQ or tips might help some. I initially thought mine was inoperative on receipt. It was stuck at 25°C or its Fahrenheit equivalent either plugged into an extension cable or directly to the headset jack. Before I sent it back, I tried it on another iPad and it worked... Mine was set to monaural audio output, switching to stereo solved the problem.
Works, But Devs Still Supporting It?
I took a chance on ordering one in spite of its age & some negative reviews.
With a cable, once you use "custom" & correct to a known temperature (I used thermostat on household AC) it works pretty good. It's not as accurate & precise as calibrated Hg thermometer, but who has one of those outside a science lab?
So I'm giving it a three (for now) only because the last update was 2014!? The devs could at least *say* they're still supporting their product -- not to mention so much missed potential imo.
For example, a widget would be cool...
I just find the lack of any activity kind of weird. Hopefully it will work with iOS 11, or I'll have an expensive 'tail' for iPad-Pro & 7+
