Ratings and Reviews
For the first week everything was great. Then it couldn't recognize how much water was in the bottle and quit noting when it was going down. I reinstalled the app, reset Bluetooth, nothing was working. I checked the reviews and saw that exact scenario was happening to a lot of people. The only thing it could do right was see the temperature of the water. Over a month goes by, I contact customer service finally and they say it's a known problem and the new app update fixes it. The new app update only mentions Fitbit in the description of the update fixes. I would have tried the whole troubleshooting process again, but because they didn't want to state their app (or firmware) had a bug, for whatever reason, and pretend like each update was to account for Fitbit or new OS system, they didn't inform their consumers. Check the reviews for all versions. Majority one star reviews. Just a crappy way to do business.
No Health App Sync
The app works okay. It’s nice that it tracks water consumption from each sip, and the water’s temperature, but I could care less about the temperature outside and would rather have it sync up the amount of consumption with the health app.

That first one is huge for me - People can gauge their water intake well enough without gadgets. A full swallow is between 3/4 of an ounce to a full ounce. What I wanted was something that would automatically record this in my Health app because I forget to do that.
Because of the app’s shortcomings, the Thermos experience overhypes (from their sales brochure) and under delivers. The experience reminds me of the health hardware that came out five years ago just as Apple was phasing out the 30-pin connector: each required their own app and none of them centralized their data and if they linked with other APIs it was with dying technology. Hearing that Fitbit is going the way of the dinosaur, it doesn’t make me feel confident that Thermos has chosen THAT company to sync with.
Works as advertised
Recently purchased one of these to track hydration intake. Instant recognition (most of the time) of your intake between the bottle and the app. One does have to pay attention on how to use it and how it works. If you take the time, it makes sense and works well. Synced it up with fitbit and it works great. If you're not of the instant gratification genre and have a bit of patience, the apps sync as advertised and it helps with water intake and personal accountability. I liked it enough and it works well, so I bought another one. One for home and one for work, both sync and have been very helpful. Thanks Thermos!
