Customer Reviews

Love this app!

In the past year, I have been trying to use only paraben-free products on my skin... using only lotions, makeup that is not harming me or the environment. This app was recommended by a person who actually sold cosmetics & when I told her my issues with what I was currently using, she recommended Think Dirty. I have been using this app ever since & have been telling family & friends about it. And love that it makes alternative recommendations if I enter in a product that is not safe. One of the most useful apps I have!

Fantastic idea, lacks research

This is a great concept but considering it automatically gives a 9 (aka potentially "carcinogenic/toxic" warning) to any and every product containing any number of "level 9" ingredients- it's pretty useless in differentiating products that may contain 12 of these "potentially harmful" ingredients vs products with only 1-2. The only difference between a poison and a cure is concentration. Science matters. Also, research matters. It's especially lazy to add a small disclaimer at the bottom of the ingredients list noting that you haven't even looked into these cosmetics companies policies on fragrances, preservatives, etc.

Tl;dr
Botched rating system.
Needs a lot more research on ingredients deemed potentially harmful.

Now I know!

Eye opening app that has many of the products I use and a few on my hard to find 'wish list'. I love being able to create multiple lists of products. I would like clarification on a few of their classification/scoring methods but will explore their website before inquiring.
