What's New in Version 7.2.4
Good app, decent shopping.
I have been using Thread up for about a year now. I do enjoy shopping discount through this site...some drawbacks though. I sent in some cloths to consign and was very disappointed with my credit offer for my items. I did send in a review of my disappointment to the director and got a kind response but it did not change the $ amount offered for my items. So if you are sending in your used clothing looking for a decent return on investment...go elsewhere. Shipping is slow, so don't order items through this site and expect them with in a week. Plan ahead and you will be just fine.
This being said, the shopping environment is okay. I would like some sort of size chart to how they measure their clothing because it's difficult to understand the chest size for example...sometimes it's listed as measured across the front...and sometimes it's a circumference...I think?
The give a credit/get a credit for referring a friend is good. I would like some more coupons and super coupons...it would be an extra incentive for me to shop. As it is now there are occasional 10% off coupon codes and that's about it. I have to love the item to buy from this site.
Returning items is okay also. Full credit of your purchase if returned in 14 days.
Even with my drawbacks about this site...I do enjoy using this app.
I love getting my ThredUp box and unwrapping my selected goodies! I've ordered three times so far and no disappointments! I've purchased items for myself and my 2 children, my five year old daughter likes picking stuff out too. :-) I really like the concept of up-cycling clothing with the excess of everything in the world. It is great to be conscious about my purchases and for this to be convenient. I love the details they include too. For each item - measurements, fading not, etc
I haven't returned or sold anything yet, but have a clean out bag that I am working to fill!
The only cons would be - 1) the lowest price for items is $4.99. Some of the items (target/Walmart) brand could be purchased new at that price. Maybe limit these brands on this if possible or lower the minimum. 2) it would be helpful if the items were ironed and on mannequins in the pictures to see them better 3) wish that items that were sets were sold together or someway linked in the posts so I know if there is matching top/bottoms
Great with the right attitude
I annually go through my closet to get rid of things I haven't worn in a year or so. When my mom told me about ThredUp I was excited at the thought of getting a return for my closet clean out. I read some reviews from people that were disappointed with the payout and I think those people were trying to make money off of their clothes. I can't blame them, but I started to think that without ThredUp I'm just donating and getting nothing back. With each item I put in my clean out bag I asked the question, "If I they don't accept this, would I be mad?" And if the answer was "yes" then I knew I really didn't want to get rid of it. I sent in 2 bags my first time and received more than $50 back! Furthermore, I have bought several things from ThredUp that I truly love. They fit well and came professionally (and cutely) wrapped. This is not your average consignment experience. Overall, I am very excited about ThredUp and their concept of recycling clothes.
