Description

TilePhotos is a very simple app that creates an array of sub-images of a given image, creating tiles from it.

Visit our website for other information and a demo.

The tiling of a given image is determined by specifying the number of row and column subdivisions, or the desired pixel dimensions of each tile. Record these values in the Preferences window of the application.

Drop a file (or folder of images) onto the application icon in the Finder, or its main window to tile it. You will be prompted for a destination for the generated tiles.

Each generated tile image will have a custom icon added to it, and it will be named after the original photo with the row and column index appended: "photo-file-name_row-index_column-index"

The origin is at the lower left of the photo, so the first row of tiles have row index 0, and first column of tiles have column index 0 - see the accompanying screen shot that shows how the face of Michelangelo's David is subdivided into a 2x2 grid, taking note of how the tiles are labelled using the format "photo-file-name_row-index_column-index" .

POS

This app is a POS! It does NOT work, why Apple is allowing it to be sold in the app store is beyond me! Class action lawsuits have been started for less!

Great Program

I have a need to cut photos into row and column segments and was doing it manually—what a pain. Also, it appends the row and column numbers to the segment file names—which is exactly what I needed. I greatly appreciate that I can give the program a whole folder full of images and it will segment all of the images at once. Further, I can specify the output location so the segments are in a different folder from the folder containing the original files. The original files are left unchanged.

It does exactly what it says it does. No reason to give it anying but a top rating.

Great for spreadsheets!

This is wonderful if you want to avoid merging cells to place a graphic within a spreadsheet. I used it to split up our company logo into 1 column of 4 tiles and it worked instantly and perfectly (Macbook Pro running OS X). You might also enjoy using it to split an image and re-color each slice differently. Made some cool creative effects.
