Tilt Fighter is a side scrolling space shooter in the "shoot 'em up" style of arcade games like Galaga and Space Invader, but developed exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch to take advantage of your device's accelerometer, multi-touch interface and powerful graphics capabilities.
In Tilt Fighter, you:
- Tilt your iPhone / iPod Touch left and right to manuever your space ship past asteroids and through enemy fire.
- Touch the screen using gestures such as taps and pinches to unleash your arsenal of weapons, including your Laser Cannon and Anti-Matter Bombs.
Tilt Fighter also has beautiful graphics and stunning scrolling backdrops for each level, and a huge variety of diverse enemies along with enhanced sound for effects such as laser shots and enemy explosions.

The accelerometer controls are easy, and I love the auto firing. I agree with Steve Jobs - fewer buttons are better. When would you not want to shoot in this game? The graphics are not stupendous, but are very servicable, and the framerate is very good. Although there is some nice progression from asteroids to UFO's, to other baddies, and there are some upgrades to shield and weapons available, the gameplay is too drawn out. The first stage is pretty boring, but you need to sit through a lot of it to make it to the next level. It would be nice to see more variety and more predictability in weapon upgrades. Also, I don't like having to tap the top of the screen to aim your secondary weapon. Your hand will obscure the screen, and you lose your balance with controlling the accelerometer. The game is mildly amusing to somewhat fun at later levels, and the price is very fair.
Actually played it before reviewing
This is a great game! The tilt motion is smooth and accurate. The first level is just a practice round to get used to the three types of weapons and to build up your arsenal. By the time you get to the upper levels it is insanely difficult, but it is possible to finish the game without losing a ship.
Star Trek Voyager and Truxton
This game reminds me of that classic Sega Genesis game "Truxton". Also the ship u command looks like the shuttle "Delta Flyer" from Star Trek Voyager. This game is worth it! For those who gave bad review, no we can NEVER have enough of these types of games! Also pls try the game 1st b4 u write reviews! 2 thumbs up and a Shaka as well to the developer/s from a Hawaiian local!
