Update - finishing the bonus chapter, I realized it was the same HOS, looking for the same items. Unacceptable.
When I saw that this game was developed by Artifex Mundi, I was quite happy because it has been a very long time since they've put anything out for ipad. Just so you know, they are from Poland (as am I) and have supported and raved about every one of their games thus far. However...
This game feels very wooden to me, as though they are going through the motions of making a game, but without any real soul in it. Yes, all the obvious bells and whistles are there, but it seems like an empty shell. Another reviewer noted that it seemed like a rehash of the previous episode and it pains me to have to agree.
Very little happens here logically. Do an action in one year and then have to check the time machine to find that a random HOS has opened AGAIN and AGAIN in another year. Then go do something else random in another year. Really, quite tedious to be honest. To to the point that I hesitated in actually buying the game after a very short trial period.
I still love you Artifex Mundi, but maybe we just need to spend a little time apart :) Pozdrowienia.

Great game! Had everything you could want! Except RATS!! (OMG Big Fish are you finally hearing my pleas. No RATS in last 4 games I played; what a pleasure!) Great gorgeous graphics, good HO scenes with a toggle dice game if you didn't want to do the HO scene, good puzzles and mini-games! Lots to do, but with a helpful journal with clear objectives and a diary, as well as a time machine teleporting map, it was different from the normal HO game. Also great zoom, a hint system and a strategy guide! The game was not as lengthy as some, but not short either and there was bonus gameplay! Not glitchy either! I was a little confused by the storyline but eventually got caught up! Worth every penny, people! Magnificent! Liked it better than the first one!
I have enjoyed both of the games in this series. Fun and entertaining, but I do agree with one of the other reviewers about the random HOS's that show up in other time periods. Until I realized that was what was happening, it took some wasted searching but overall still enjoyed the game. I do agree that BF prices are a little high. I go through one of these type games in a night or two so that gets expensive when you are buying 3-4 a week. I really enjoyed the BF sale that went on last year where a lot of games were half price. Even $5 is better than $7 for a game that may take 2-3 hours. I may be holding out for another one of those sales to buy a stock of games.
