Works well after...
I was dismayed after having a TWC Intelligent Home system installed to see all the negative reviews. When I first installed my TWC IH app, I experienced the same difficulties... I could monitor the system, but got the same broadband error everyone else seems to experience. The tech who installed the system was kind enough to diagnose the issue....there are 2 causes that can trigger this error. First (my cause) was that the outlet I plugged my base into was defective and the base unit had no power. When the base unit is without AC power it goes into a power save mode and will not communicate with anything remotely. I plugged the base unit into a working outlet and the app works perfectly to arm/disarm and to control the furnace. The "broadband error" can also occur if the base unit somehow gets reset into a standby mode.
I did not get video cameras, so I cannot speak to monitoring video feed.
Overall very satisfied with the app. It would be a great idea if the next update would take advantage of iPhone fingerprint ID so I did not have to enter my password every time.
THE APP DOES NOT WORK!!!!
The app does not arm and disarm! I can view the cameras, but if I'm in my car in the driveway and want to disarm before I reach my door, it will not allow me to disarm the alarm. Sometimes it says disarmed, but it's armed! Only the keypad works reliably. The app is useless! Due to this issue, cops come to my house often and according to my brother (who is a cop [NYPD] ), I've been put on the "nuisance list". Meaning they will not come to my house immediately. I've been placed at the bottom of the list in terms of priority due to all of the false positives. Thanks Time Warner! According to one of the reps at Time Warner, Time warner decided to outsource the app development to a 3rd party and they are not responsible for the performance of the app! Just great, probably some software firm in India made this. In the future, you may want to product test this piece of crap!
Since the update...
Since the update, my app has been unable to set or turn off the alarm, stating not connected to broadband. Thinking it was the tablet and router/modem, I reset them like I was instructed to do by TimeWarner. And still no luck. The tablet for the alarm itself still works to control the alarm. But since update, I haven't been able to turn on/off the alarm with the app without being prompted that the alarm is not connected to broadband. If I uninstall the app, and then re-download it, the app works again but for a short period of time. I should not have to keep deleting it and re-downloading the app just to be able to use it.
