Room for improvement
The Timelapse Calculator is great for 90% of most time-lapse calculation needs; however, I was hoping that this calculator would be more advanced in its settings, since it is a calculator specifically designed for time-lapse applications. For instance, I need to time-lapse a project that is four months long, but the sight will be active only five days of the week and I only want to time lapse 12 hours of each day and the client wants a running screen time of 5 minutes. The Timelapse Calculator will only accommodate up to a 2-minute screen time. I have to use another calculator to determine that my 12 hour shooting days equals 20 full days for the four months, this is because the Timelapse Calculator is not able to go beyond 24 hours, or 28 days and there is no options for fractions in hours or days. This is a very basic calculator and I would recommend the pricey pCAM application, its time-lapse calculator is awesome.
I've recently gotten into timelapse photography with my DSLR. At first I didn't even know how important it was to plan for clip duration or settings to get a desired clip length. I did some research but all the utilities were Internet based - not something that's going to help me in the field where there's no signal. So I checked for an app and they're right - there IS an app for that. Gotta love the app store. This app must be new b/c I checked once before and there wasn't one available. This app is quite slick and very easy to use. It even lets me save results so I dont have to reprogram if I want to go back and do the same timelapse again. A must buy if you plan on doing timelapse!
Thanks for writing this app! I usually refer to a PDF on my iPhone with a few basic charts for some standard timelapses that I often do with my HD camera for documentary work. You've taken the guess work out of my longer shoots. This app is well thought out and designed. It's going to make beautiful timelapses a breeze.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
