Timelines - Time Tracking

By Lukas Petr

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Timelines is a delightful time tracker that will help you become more efficient and find more time for the things you care about the most. How? By showing exactly where your time goes.

What are users saying?

“Great app! Really helps to show where you are wasting time.”

“.. helps me keep track of my weekly hectic schedule to see the big picture of what I was really accomplishing with my time”

“a great tool with ever-improving functionality”

How does it work?

1.) Set up projects and areas in your life that you want to measure.
2.) Record what you are doing throughout the day, using timers.
3.) See tracked time on an interactive timeline, and get the bigger picture with Statistics.
4.) Based on step three, you can do informed changes in your routine to spend your time better.

The main features

◦ Super simple time tracking
Start and stop timers with just one tap. Use Today widget to do it from any part of the system.

◦ Fully interactive timeline
Scroll and zoom through your tracked time. Refer to our App Preview video above to see it in action.

◦ Actionable statistics
Quickly see how you are doing over time. Just enable Statistics mode and scroll through time to change statistics interval.

◦ Export to file
Effortlessly get a PDF or CSV export. You can also preview it right inside the app.

◦ Simple structure that won’t confuse you
Create a timeline for each project or area in your life that you want to track. Each timeline has events, which represent single blocks of tracked time. Events can have a name and a note.

◦ Apple Watch app
Timelines for Apple Watch allows you to track time from your wrist. For quick access, add our complication to your watch face. You can also set names for tracked events using dictation.

◦ Crafted with loving care
Timelines was built with obsessive care and attention to detail, not only from a design perspective but also from the perspective of the underlying architecture. You can expect a pain-free and crash-free experience.

A big part of our vision is to listen closely to you, our users. Updates so far are a testament to that. If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas for improvements, we definitely want to hear from you! Please email us at

What's New in Version 1.3

• Reminders!
With reminders, it gets easier to use timers, because when you accidentally forget to stop or start one, you'll be reminded to do so.
You can also act upon them right in the notification. They are highly customizable, actionable and reliable - I think you'll love them!

• More improvements
- Rounding in Statistics & Exports
- Ability to change start day of the week
- Statistics now snap to time intervals
- Adjustable step in date pickers
- Big optimization of timeline scrolling
- And a few smaller improvements

As always, if you enjoy this update, please consider leaving a review on the App Store (or re-submitting your previous one). It really helps!

Thank you,
- Lukas

Customer Reviews

Excellent, and with even more promise for the future

I've settled on Timelines for my time tracking needs after comparing it with the free ones out there. It may not yet have a cross-device sync capability, but the developer tells me that's in the works. In the meantime, the ability of this app to manually add and edit start and end times (even for currently active timers, or for blocks of time on previous days) is far more powerful and intuitive than that of other alternatives, and that's what made the difference for me. The GUI is very slick, too, and the Reminders feature looks likely to be very useful. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the developer of Timelines is VERY engaged with his users, and that bodes well for the future development of the app.

Great app, improvements in the works

So far, this is the only application that I've used that allows me to quickly set and keep track of items, easily view all of my data, and in general not get in the way of me using the main features. A lot of the way the app works is intuitive for me and makes sense after only about a minute or so. Really well designed application.

I've also spoken with the developer about feature requests and bugs that I found and he has responded quickly and nicely. Really look forward to using this app for a long time to come.

Don't waste your money 💰

I want my money back. I'm asking for a refund please. I paid 8$ for this after trying almost every time tracking apps on AppStore thinking it would have more features, But I was wrong, this app is very basic and most of the free apps on the AppStore will give you the same features and even more. The app have no account to sync your data to that means you need your phone around all time even when u want to be away from your phone 📱. Sometime I'm on my desktop and I don't want to be distracted by phone. The widget doesn't show more than 8 entries which is a poor design not like some other apps which gives u the option to make it group and not to pop up the the app every time u want to track ur time ! I regret paying 8$ for this that worth 1-2$ in my opinion.
