Immortalize your photos in the hauntingly beautiful Tintype photographic process invented in the 1850′s. Tintype makes your photos timeless.
Very narrow depth of field, gorgeous textures, and organic borders take your photos back 150 years. We hope to educate the world on Tintype photography and pay homage to the art form itself.
local Tintype photographer and watching the process in person over her shoulders as she worked. Of course no digital process will even come close to a true Tintype so if this style interests you call up your local Tintype photographer and book a session!
In V2 we'd like to include a complete database of every Tintype photographer we can find so you can locate your nearest one and book an in-person shoot. If you know of a local Tintype photographer let us know by tapping the "heart locket" button on the homes screen, the tapping "send us feedback" so we can include them in this list. What's New in Version 1.1
Could be great but....
I went searching specifically for a tintype app and was excited to find this. The actual results are very authentic looking but I had to try numerous photos before I found one that I'm assuming was small enough for this app to handle. It crashes before the photo even loads. Unfortunately too while in the editing mode when you move the button along the tintype effects scale the photo becomes unrecoverably blurry. I don't know if this is a bug or if it is just that low quality. I really wanted to upgrade but if it can't handle real size photos, doesn't have hd graphics, and doesn't save in high quality it is pointless for me. It also hasn't been updated in over a year making it even more pointless! A real shame.
Tintype. Old School yet new
A simple yet affective new app that schools your iPhone in wet plate tintype effects. I love the simplistic layout and the clean you can do this stuff in other apps but you will enjoy the results from this new app!
Save your Dollar!
It's a couple of bad filters that do not accurately represent Daguerreotype photography as it represents itself.
Stuck in a vertical frame. Vignettes that just make your photo blurry. And you get milked for a dollar if you try to export a photo!
The makers of this product should be embarrassed at their own laziness and greediness.
