Too Many Commercial

I love the shows on TLC, but I have to agree with so many of the other reviews of the app and the TV streaming. It is extremely annoying that there are so many commercials in one show, and the same ones are repeated over and over and over. The commercial to show time ratio is ridiculous! It seems to take an hour to watch a 25 minute show due to all the commercials. In addition, either the commercials or the show will freeze and buffer several times and sometimes just tell you there is something wrong with your internet connection. I have high speed internet with a Roku 3 on the TV and have no problem with my other streaming channels or apps. When you close out the program you’re watching to try and fix the issue, it doesn’t keep your spot where you were watching the show. It kicks you back to starting at the beginning of the show, which forces you to have to watch all the commercial adds 20 times again. It needs a lot of improvement before I would raise my rating. Fix the app and TV streaming!

The worst TV app out there

If you want to sit around watching commercials all day then this app is for you! If you watch it from your phone, you typically have to watch three and a half minutes of commercials every 5 minutes. But more since the app will kick you out randomly or if you need to come back to an episode it plays it from the wrong spot you left off so you have to rewind it and so you have to watch 10 minutes of commercials before you can figure out where you actually left off and watch your show. Also the layout is HORRIBLE. If I return later want to watch the next episode in a series I have to go hunt down where I was at, it doesn’t show what you’ve been watching. But I’ve got a bunch of “continue watching” episodes that I’ve finished and the app forgot I finished, or shows I didn’t like. But they sit and stare at you for forever. It also bugged me that the app didn’t combine all my devices but I think that’s finally something they are working on.... but they have about 748 more bugs to figure out after that.

Soooooo glitchy!

I had originally connected my direct TV information into the app and it was working well overall. The shows do have some glitch issues though that often cause you to have to start the episode over and then go through SO MANY COMMERCIALS to try and get back to where you left off. But at least I got to watch the shows.

Somehow it lost my Direct TV account info and now when I try to access an episode or to go into settings to try and reconnect it, the “processing” circle comes up for a moment and then just goes away. It never allows me to reconnect my account. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no change. So now I can’t really watch anything, even though I should be able to!!

Also, it never seems to be able to keep my personal settings. I added a number of shows into my favorites category, but after a day or so, they’re not there anymore. I went back in and added them again only to have them all disappear again. It also fails to show the “watched next” stuff either. So frustrating!!

And yes....so many commercials!!!! I don’t mind some, but DANG! And they’ll repeat the same commercial multiple times. Come on...

Really such a glitchy, glitchy app. I don’t understand why they can’t get it to run smoothly. If they did, I would definitely give it 4-5 stars! But as is, it is often not even functional.
