TNEF's Enough allows Macs to read and extract files from Microsoft TNEF files. The files are usually received via email from Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook users. Standard e-mail programs will receive the TNEF file as an attachment named "winmail.dat."
The "winmail.dat" file can contain attachments, contact files (.vcf) or calendar files (.ics) as well as a rich text or HTML version of the email body. TNEF's Enough can open the "winmail.dat" file and allow you to extract the attachments.
What's New in Version 3.7
Now compatible with 10.11 (El Capitan) and backwards compatible to 10.7 (Lion).
I received a bunch of files in this format for a rush project and had NO idea what to do with them. So glad I found this app. Works like a charm. Huge thanks!
Works well as advertised
After trying other “free” apps that claimed they would extract an attachment to a a win.dat file, but wanted you to pay for an upgrade to actually access those attachments, I went looking for TNEF’s Enough which had worked well for me previously, but stopped working in El Capitan. This new version again does what I need it to do, namely extract attachments to win.dat files. The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars is that you have to save the attachment first and cannot just double click to open it directly from this app. That’s a minor annoyance, though, since it otherwise does what I want, does it well, and really is free.
Does exactly what it needs to do (extract files from “winmail.dat” attachments).
