The objective of this project is to help address the violations faced by migrant workers in Kuwait by
several means, have them educate themselves about their rights and provide legal counseling.
First, the project aims to translate Kuwait’s Labor Law, currently available in Arabic only, in five other
languages: English, French, Urdu, Filipino and Hindi.
Secondly, the project will establish a hotline in these languages to receive information and complaints
from the employees, as well as monitor and document the violations to which they are exposed and the
ways to address them. The results will be published in periodic reports.
Third, the project will create the electronic platform «Together». This is an integrated multilingual
web and mobile solution that allows migrant workers in Kuwait to be aware of their rights and to call for
support in the case of rights’ violations. The platform seeks to help the workers to find the knowledge by
themselves. By using a multilingual application, easily accessible on mobile devices, and a website, the
project will contribute significantly to the reduction of rights violations by raising awareness and providing
legal advice. As such, it contributes to ensuring workers’ rights and their access to a decent life.
Lastly, the project will work on media exposure by promoting these activities through media campaigns
on the radio and social media.
