Completely dysfunctional now

It used to be so intuitive, but with each relaunch it has become overly complicated to the point that it’s unusable. I forgot to stop my timer yesterday and had a difficult time figuring out how to open the time entry and change it. It’s not clear where the logged entries begin because the recommended projects at the top look exactly the same. When I finally figured out where the entries were I opened them to discover some crazy circular slider that seems entirely unnecessary. I tried to manually change the time however it defaults to January 1st, so I’d have to scroll all the way forward to today’s date in order to change. When I tried using the wheel it just shifted the entire time block instead of adjusting the end time. In the end I opened the previous version of the app and will be deleting this version. Seems they hired a designer who puts form over function.

Developer Response

Hey there, thanks for sharing the feedback and sorry to hear of the unfortunate experience of yours. I assure that our team continues to work on the app, based on feedback we receive from users such as yourself, so any feedback shared is very valuable to us.
As for the January 1st bug, this has been fixed in our latest update (v1.4.2). Please note that the old version of the application is no longer supported and thus may bring about troubles with syncing or other functionalities.

Time slider terrible

The old app was so much more efficient with being able to change start and end time. Sometimes my day gets crazy and I forget to press start or stop. The slider is ridiculous and time consuming.
After reading through many previous reviews, I see that many users also complain about the slider and notice that Toggl always replies but never really addresses the compiling dislike of the slider. I think the main problem with this new app is simple: the slider. Find a new way to do it. Compare your ratings on the new app to the old app.
I use this when I work from home and have to report my time later. My work REQUIRES start and stop times, not generic lengths of time.
I still have the old app on my phone and utilize this to get my exact start and stop time.

Developer Response

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback! We're sorry to hear that our latest update is not meeting your needs, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Just like with any other app, when things change there's always a bit of a learning curve we need to overcome.

For example, "The Wheel" feature that has been getting so much attention is actually the thing that will help you manipulate your start and stop time, please go through this quick guide on how to use the feature and how it can actually help you out whenever you need the change the start/stop time for an entry: https://support.toggl.com/toggl-timer-for-ios/#the-wheel

Hope that helps!

End time uses jan 1 vs start day?

I just tried to adjust the end time of a task, and when I clicked on end time it brought up a picker controller where the day was Jan 1 instead of the same day as the start time or today! This seems like a really obvious fail that either the dev, product mgr, or QA should have thought of.

Also, when I adjust the end time, the duration doesn’t change. That’s ridiculous! If you change the duration, then the end time changes.

Finally , it crashes *every* time I start it. I usually run the mobile app when I forgot to stop the timer on the desktop app. So, it is out of sync and the timer is running. Is this something that you have tested? Do you use crashlytics or something similar?

Developer Response

Hey there, thanks for sharing the feedback.

The January 1st bug is something that is fixed in the latest update we have just released - 1.4.2.

With regards to the end time and duration, could you send us a screenshot via support(at)toggl(dot)com that reflects a discrepancy between the updated end time and duration? I have just tested and could not replicate a similar situation, but if that is indeed the case, we'll definitely need to have it reviewed.

As for the crashing - we are aware of them and must admit these have been tricky to pin down. Resolving these crashes is, however, our team's current priority. Sorry about these inconveniences!
