Classic Lara Croft

I played this game so much on playstation 1 and now I bought it for my Imac 5k 27-inch, late 2015 upgraded to mac OS sierra. Let's start with the good things: The game plays smooth and looks great but the game looks a little strectch out to fit on widescreen in other words Lara Croft looks a little fat compared to her Playstation 1 version. The game works with a ps4 original controller and a ps4 pro controller. The controllers layout functions just like the playstation 1 except the d pad doesnt work so you gotta use the left anolog stick to move.

Now for the bad: I did encounter sound issues for example sound effects may sound a little low pitch then it corrects itself. Laras voice sounds a little manly when she picks up stuff which is funny when that glitch happens. Yes the sound does not match with the cutscenes so you will noticed delays there. Also I noticed theres a movie cutscene near the end that wont start where Lara hijacks a car during a snow vehicle chase. I already beat the game and love it but those sound issues are annoying when they happen. I hope they patch this problems but it seems they have not resolved the problem since 2011 when it was released on the apple store.

OSX Lion Issues

Overall, I played the port of this game and was very happy. A few things created issues, however; the cutscenes were not synced very well. Audio and video did not match up, so sound typically came much later (more than a second or two) than the video. This only occurs in cutscenes in-game; FMV sequences are not affected. Also, there are a few glitches in the way the game handles audio, such as when you are underwater, there is NO music. Only if you come above the water can you hear background music from the game. Also, when driving vehicles, such as the snowmobile on certain levels, the sounds glitch quite a bit and drop in and out. It almost sounds as if the game sounds are slowed down (Lara's voice drops a bit).

I was quite content with overlooking these issues…..until I updated to OS X Lion. After updating to this release of the OS, the game won't start. It pauses at the first FMV sequence and won't go any further. I'm going to wait patiently for an update; until then, I'm not able to play the game and feel like I deserve an update, if not an apology. Very frustrating, considering I was more than half the way through the game and an OS update caused the program to stop working.

Release an update to address these issues and I will gladly give a better review!

Tomb Raider II

While the graphics are outdated, this game is still a great one to play. I was glad to find TR II had been updated so it could run on the newer Mac OS. Everything about the game is great. The music is especially good adding to the over-all experience. Unlike the latest Tomb Raider, this game is Lara the way Lara was meant to be — tough. The puzzles are fun and by trying to collect all the hidden relics, the game stays fun when played multiple times. Best of all, look at that price. I’d way rather play this oldie version than the latest one. One of the first and still one of the best TR versions. Reading an earlier comment, they mentioned the audio wasn’t syncing in the video segments. That is true and my original game (played on the old system 7) had the same problem. Still . . . for $8, you can’t lose — well, depending on your play.
