Truly amazing app this is !
I’ve dealt with my own form of this condition for probably about 10 years and this routine as been helpful to me when nothing else has come close. ( I have an intermittent “jaw clench” difficulty without anything else that might explain it <e.g., anxiety, depression, other angst, or other dental, jaw or potentially related medical conditions>. It just is. My dentist made me a mouth guard - (surely helpful to protect the teeth fm brux-related enamel loss!). I’ve tried hypnosis, ( other) focused meditations, exercises. I’ve been evaluated for dental surgery- glad I don’t qualify (!!!) It does seem obvious that this author ( artist!!) has experienced all this before. How great that you are a dentist ! Hope you are able to get how much can help out in your community. Personally, I still have “episodes” and if at home, I can just take a 15 min nap with earphones in and listen to this. Yay !!
Stopped my pain right away on the first listen. Still have to listen for result - am not "cured" yet but hope to change the habit of clenching more fully soon. I do have to leave the ringer on my phone on for it to work, which is not the case with my other apps, but, I just put the phone on airplane mode before using it. There are some other little sound annoyances that break through because of this, but overall the app works well, the tech support has been extremely responsive, and I have much more comfort in my jaw. The shortness of the session was perfect because it worked quickly and the auto repeat was great because I can leave it on at night to wake without pain in the morning.
When I first read the instruction I thought it seems way too simple. Ten years ago I went to a massage therapist specializing in TMJ Disorder. I did receive relief & flexibility after a number of painful sessions. He also gave me a series if stretches to perform daily. However, though much better, I would still awake with pain in my jaw muscles from clinching in my sleep. Then I got away from the stretches & the tightness returned. This simple practice has completely eliminated any discomfort from TMJD. I cannot thank or recommend the instruction from this app. It is sad to think of all the people who might have benefited from this app instead of enduring other temporary treatments or worse surgeries.
