Good start, needs more polish

Main complaints from me are:

1) Interpretation of all apostrophes (‘)
as the number nine. As in, “I’ve” turns into “I9ve,” which is both strange and annoying. Not sure how that passed inspection, as it’s something I notice very frequently when browsing Mastodon using this app.

2) Links are almost impossible to click. It’s great when article preview boxes show up but they don’t always do that. Sometimes, all that’s available is some hyperlink text, and I have to try at least 7 - 10 times to press the URL to direct me to its webpage. That’s in the timeline view. What typically occurs is that the app thinks I intended to press on the toot object itself and it enlarges the toot thread instead. Within this view, it is literally impossible to press the link. No amount of pressing the hyperlinked text will trigger an action. Needless to say, these issues are very annoying.

Otherwise, I have nothing else to complain about. Someone else mentioned in their review that inheriting parent toot CWs would be a good addition since it’s standard Mastodon practice, so that would be a welcome addition. Also, I would support keeping the software ad-free and not selling user data.

Feature-rich but has some weird bugs

High-Powered Space Puppies

I've been retrying some Mastodon apps, and I like a lot of things about this one. It has a lot of features that are missing from other iOS Mastodon clients. It has timeline filtering using regular expressions (similar to what's available via the web interface), a proper emoji keyboard, using lists as custom timelines, user interface customizations, and more. The number of features is actually a little overwhelming at times, and the interface is a little busier than I like. But there is a lot you can do to make it work how you like.

It used to inject ads into the timeline, but that has thankfully been removed.

But it has some weird bugs. The most annoying: The app renders the standard apostrophe as a number 9. I have no idea why but it's bizarre. Replies don't inherit CWs of the parent, which goes against the common etiquette on many instances, so you have to be careful.

All that said, it's a pretty good app. It just needs a little more UX polish, but this level of customizability is a nice selling point.

Almost but not quite

This is one of the better mastodon clients out there but there is one fatal flaw. It keeps auto playing videos. Like in a way that’s unstoppable. So for example if I scroll past three videos in my federated timeline all three will start playing with no way to stop. If I click on one of the playing videos I get an expanded view of the toot but the video keeps playing in the background at the same time.

Great now I have two copies playing and no way to stop the one that started playing when I scrolled past it in the timeline :(
