Free App, Credits cost.
Before you read into the "bad reviews" from nimrods try to understand the facts first! App itself is a free download. Then at each bar you purchase credits that are good to that location exclusively. It's the same as if you drop a five dollar bill in the touch tunes juke box itself. Basically you can buy the credits from your phone and it charges your credit card then you have (I think) six months to use them at that location. So if you don't plan on frequenting one particular bar do NOT buy five dollars of credits that location unless you plan on using all of those credits that night. If you want to play a single song drop a single dollar in juke box itself. I've been burned on credits before but that's my fault because I rarely ever go to that particular bar. "touch tunes" is a totally legit outfit!
I understand how a jukebox works and I'm fine with that your money works for the jukebox you paid for. Would it be more functional if the credits worked specifically to my phone? yes. My issue is that the Droid app works better than the IPhone app does. First, droid tells you the nicknames of those selecting music, that way you can shame people for having bad taste in music. Droid also shows you much further into the songs that are coming. If I pay extra to play next I want to know when it's coming. Why can't you just tell me, 3 songs away because sometimes I go out and the bar closes before I even get to hear my music. It would also be nice to have an option to pay to not have to listen to people's terrible taste. I will outbid you every time!
Money only works at one location and expires
Touch tunes has set up their system to increase your odds of not being able to use the credits you purchase. They are clearly abusing the fact that they have juke boxes in a lot of bars. I only find myself in a bar, and wanting to play particular music a couple of times per year. It usually isn't the same bar either. Touch Tunes wants you to not use your credits that you purchased: that's free money for them. Credits expire after 180 days. They also only work at one bar. This company is a sham. I will not be using TouchTunes any more, and I will be educating bar owners on how their juke box is ripping off their patrons. Great concept, but the company got too greedy.
