What's New in Version 1.20
Boggle Gobble, the evil goblin, has entered the realm. Those who conquered the initial campaign will have to face his treacherous challenges. We've added 10 new levels to conquer with newly added extremely difficult achievements. We have also revised the balance in all levels of the game thanks to the feedback from fans!! Thank you so much for supporting the game and providing us feedback to make it great.
Tower defense game with a fun twist
While this feels like a TD game where you have waves of bad guys and building towers stops them directly, this instead is about making buildings with certain traits that create limited-range, movable units (like some towers in Kingdom Rush) to fight the waves of attackers. None of the towers do damage themselves. Units are created from between 1 to 3 types of support structures (melee, ranged, magic) that sit around the towers. How you position and time those units, along with your player-controlled spells, is pretty much is how you win the game. Some of the units feel fairly useless (e.g. "Boom Tosser" = x1 ranged + x2 magic) while others dominate ("True Scholar" = 1 of each or "Shiny Sword Fella" = x3 melee).
+ Really slick production values, the amount of polish was surprising since this game has not gotten a lot of press.
+ Sandbox mode where you can test units out.
+ Solid unit placement strategy, good maps.
+ Combination of heroes you can make is really unique and fun to figure out.
- First attempt at some levels can be hard until you figure out a good combination of units.
- A little short.
Finally: while the hero building is very unique to this title, you can’t help but draw comparisons to Kingdom Rush since it cribs a lot from those games (right down to the same kind of cartoony humor). This is not a knock. Really looking forward to additions they put into this game or the next one that comes out.
Fun for a bit but unbalanced after you move along
Main issue is they change the playing field on you. Once you go for a 5 star challenge they change the amount of hits needed to kill off something. Totally no rhyme or reason. You'll enjoy it for a bit then it just gets completely frustrating as you go for the higher levels. Please don't bother.
Not So Fun
Interesting but not balanced very well. Despite having the ability to make many combinations of units, most are not used. The game plays out as a more complicated version of "Rock, Paper, Scissors."
You spend less time playing how you want and more time trying to figure out what buildings you are expected to have at any point in time.
An interesting take on tower defense, but needs work. If you want to have fun with your spare time, try something else.
