Entune App Suite is a collection of popular mobile applications and data services integrated with select 2012 or newer Toyota vehicles. Entune App Suite is included with your vehicle, at no additional or annual charge. Once the phone is connected to the vehicle using Bluetooth® wireless technology or a USB cable, Entune's App Suite features are operated using the vehicle's controls or, for some services, by voice recognition. If your Toyota is equipped with the Display Audio Multimedia system then it is required to cable all iPhone mobile digital devices to the USB port. This requirement allows the Display Audio Entune system to operate with full functionality and it also recharges all iPhone mobile digital devices. I have been using this with my prius for a while. First off reading other peoples reviews I agree this doesn't not work well with the prius and iPhone. When I got my car they said for iPhone and os to use entune, it has to be plug to USB. When you are on Bluetooth mode it all works beautifully but you can't connect to entune on Bluetooth. Second it is pretty dangerous when you try to plug it in of course don't do it when ur driving. For some reason it's hard to put the USB in especially with the apple and the location of the USB is horrible you have to duck your head down, very dangerouse. My iPhone does get hot when I plug it, sometimes it doesn't read and one more thing is that when I try to use entune bing and the gps system, it freezes the whole gps the mileage doesn't change and it doesn't tell you where you need to turn. In order to reset it you have to pull the car over disconnect the USB and turn the car off so the gps can also reset. This only happens on long road more then 1 hour trips and when your running iPhone and entune. I tried to go to the dealer about the problem, but of course it doesn't come up because you have to be on a long drive. Please toyota I love my car and my phone can there be a software upgrade to deal with this problem. It's pretty bad to have to pull over and reset everything. Does anyone have this problem too?
Prius 4 Owner with iPhone (all is well, most of time)
Product seems to work well with all of our iOS devices, from iPhone 4, 5, 6 and 6+. All via Bluetooth as well. The one thing you have to do is have the entune app in the foreground at least initially while they sync up. Once everything is talking, you can move to other apps if needed on the phone. All in all it works well, wish there were more apps and the ability to mirror the phone on the large screen. Would be mp nice if entune allowed you to add custom apps that you would like to use. I agree with everyone that Toyota had better not charge for this service. It would not be a good move for Toyota. Overall, it works well, just would like to see more functionality.
Gas Prices, Movie Tickets, Yelp
I really like it because then me and my passenger have this nice large screen we look at together and decide where to grab a bite to eat. Where and what movie to see and not calling for directions and if we do call for reservations it has the number pulled up so it's just a press of a button and we are on our way. We are one notch below the JBL premium sound level and I am really impressed with factory sound quality in our new Camry. Gas prices are nice and easy to look up too, I like saving a few cents here and there. Probably use Pandora the most just because the iHeart Radio sounded just meh.. sorta spoiled with the higher sound quality of Pandora and the SiriusXM
