Entune® App Suite is a revolutionary in-car multimedia experience that keeps you and your 2012 or newer Toyota connected.
Entune® App Suite is a collection of popular mobile applications and data services integrated with select 2012 or newer Toyota vehicles. Entune® App Suite is included with your vehicle, at no additional or annual charge. Once the phone is connected to the vehicle using Bluetooth® wireless technology or a USB cable, Entune's features are operated using the vehicle's controls or, for some services, by voice recognition. If your Toyota is equipped with the Display Audio Multimedia system then it is required to cable all iPhone mobile digital devices to the USB port. This requirement allows the Display Audio Entune system to operate with full functionality and it also recharges all iPhone mobile digital devices. Entune's apps include Bing™, iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable®, and Pandora®. Entune’s data services include fuel guide, sports scores, stocks, traffic and weather. Select 2014 and newer vehicles also include Facebook Places and Yelp. Entune® App Suite for Prius Plug-in Hybrid Advanced model and RAV4 EV Applications also include Charge Management, Charge Station Locator, Remote Climate, Vehicle Finder and Eco Dashboard. I hate my Prius because of Entune
The Entune app is a complete waste of time. What is the point of having an app on your phone that does an embarrassingly bad job of trying to do what more polished apps on my phone already do? If Toyota's goal was to create a phone app emulator within a phone then I guess they succeeded. If the point was to build something useable then you've failed. WHY(!!!!!) can't I connect my f@$&ing iPhone via Bluetooth? WHY do none of the Toyota dealerships seem to know nothing about the update to Entune 3.1.0 that's been out for months?! WHY for the love of Christ can't you just make it a downloadable update that the customer is responsible for putting on a thumb drive and updating themselves?! I've called 3 dealers in my area who know nothing about the existence of 3.1.0. I've called Toyota Cares (hint- they don't) who said they knew nothing about version 3, but would send me version 2 if I liked. I hate Toyota, if I didn't need the car I would take my car, attach a [vaguely humorous terroristic threat deleted] and drive it right through the showroom window.
Not worth the money
Toyota does a great job advertising entune making it seem like its the "must have" feature. But half the time i just get "loading" on my screen, or if i switch from entune to ipod then i just get "loading" on ipod. I dont think the system is advanced enough yet to figure out what its trying to do if you switch between apps or ipod from entune. Now they added commercials to pandora which set me over the edge because why did i pay for this technology when it works better using the actual apps straight from my phone? I've talked to the dealer about my "loading" issue and they recognized a problem and said they would "look into it" that was the last i heard. Next time i went to the dealer they acted like they had never heard of the problem before in their life.. I'm giving 2 stars because the camry itself is fantastic however i would not have purchased the entune had i known the hassle it would be.
Still no bluetooth for iPhone
Sorry but the continued lack of bluetooth support for iPhone makes this a very troublesome and in many cases useless app and car feature. I should've opted for the cheaper Prius without Entune and been paying much less of a monthly payment. The whole thing is a headache to use and many times more of a driving distraction than anything. My previous 2010 Prius with the older system and no Entune worked much faster as well. This Entune thing has been very disappointing to say the least.
WARNING, rant to follow, may or may not have anything to do with Entune:
Can we please get a simple yes/no option to choose whether or not we want the system to automatically switch to a phone's audio whenever it is plugged in? Is it that hard to do? The car can tell me where the cheapest gas is and how much gas money I burned trying to get there. I should be able to tell it not to play the Abbey Road documentary every single time I need to simply charge my phone... Thank you.
