Anyone who has ever created a GPS track needs this app!
Ever forget to stop tracking? Stop for lunch and get a bunch of garbage points? Forced to try to edit GPX files manually? There is no need for that now with this app.
This is the easiest way to edit GPX tracks!
Tracking your activity via GPS is not always as accurate as you’d like. With Track Editor you can easily:
- Trim tracks
- Remove inaccurate points or ‘spikes’
- Combine multiple tracks
- Export edited tracks
Our ‘timeline’ approach to editing makes modifying your tracks easy. The timeline even includes a graph of elevation or speed (when available) to help pinpoint times to split.
Q.Is it compatible with GPX files from apps other than GPS Kit?
A. Yes - GPX Track Editor supports all standard GPX track files. However, we recommend using GPS Kit to track your outdoor activities!
Q. How do I import my GPX files?
A. You can import files from iTunes or your Mail app.
Q.How do I export edited GPX files?
A. You can export via iTunes, Mail, or you can ‘Open In’ any app that’s registered with your device to open GPX files (such as GPS Kit).

Crashes on startup
Works a few times, then crashes on every startup. When it is working, it only imports GPX tracks opened in it about 50% of the time (same exact files - but half the time it will give an error about "no points"). The only way to make it work again from the crash-on-startup issue is to uninstall and re-download. Would be a great app if they updated ever to (1) not crash, (2) import consistently, (3) make work with satellite maps again (the option is there but it doesn't work), and (4) support retina resolution and/or portrait view. This company makes some very high end GIS apps, and I would hope this app is not just a preview of the quality of their more expensive apps. It is unfortunate that there's a complete lack of good GPX track point editors on the App Store. I wish there were good alternatives (all the require 5+ taps just to delete individual points, and can't easily split a track into multiple sections like this app).
Works as advertised - Update!
I’ve now installed Track Editor on my iPad Pro and it works just as well there as it does on my iPhone 6+. I did find one small bug but it’s been reported to the developer and I expect they will fix it. Love this App.
I don’t know what’s wrong with the other installations here but my 6+ with the latest iOS version has no problem with Track Editor. It took all of 2 minutes to figure out the UI and so far this has been a very well spent $0.99. It even works offline - although the maps are only cached around the current track. I’d give the App 5 Stars if there was an option to download OSM maps for offline use..
Good Thing It Was Only 99 cents
I purchased this app to edit tracks for GPS Kit HD. First when trying to import files via email (sent from GPS Kit), or open them directly, the app crashes. Specifically it crashes trying to open a GPX file.
Features in the menu flatly don't work. I cannot create a new project. As a result one can't do anything that resembles getting the app to work or display full menu options
About a week later now… I’m updating this to report that Support did respond by simply asking what Device, OS, and app version I was using even those all that info was in the first sentence of my support request. They also simply stated the features of the app, not addressing the fact that those features crash.
Clearly supported doesn’t even read your email.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
