Traffic View is the best selling traffic application in the App Store and the #3 app in the Navigation category!
Get the app that thousands of commuters are raving about – see the live traffic to believe it!
If too much of your time is wasted in traffic, then this is the app for you! Traffic View is simply the best way to take a look at traffic before you step into your car. You get access to over 7,000 traffic cameras to keep you informed about what's happening on the roadways right now, nationwide. Bookmark your favorites, search for an intersection, see camera locations on a map, and email the latest traffic snapshots to your friends, all from within the app.
Powered by TrafficLand, the cameras in this app provide users with still image snapshots of live traffic conditions in over 100 cities, and more cities are added all the time! For users who want to see live moving traffic, there is an upgrade available within the app to enable fast-updating video (a frame every 2-5 seconds) in over 3,400 of the cameras.
This application currently supports many of the biggest cities in the USA, including: Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, Boston, Phoenix, Seattle, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Denver, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Sacramento, Orlando, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Columbus, Indianapolis, Virginia Beach, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Nashville, Jacksonville, Memphis, Louisville, and many, many more….over 100 cities in total!
Cameras in Texas are not currently supported. For a complete list of supported cities in the USA, please visit www.trafficland.com/sitemap.jsp
Traffic service for this app has been extended through 2011!.

Good real-time images for some camera locations but poor customer support
The Traffic View app provides access to many cameras in many cities. The app displays a static image of traffic, however the image may be stale and in the basic Traffic View app the images do not update. An in-app purchase to provide “real-time” images does a good job and updates images about every 2 to 5 seconds on some cameras, but the real-time cameras may or may not be located where you travel. The real-time in-app purchase applies only to the specific iPhone used for the purchase and does not transfer to any other associated devices such as an iPad. The app “favorites” does not work (at least on on an iPhone 4s). Customer support seems non-existent; any customer support that may exist is difficult to contact. For what Traffic View does well (like real time images) I would give it 5 stars, but since many cameras only provide static images I dropped the rating to 4 stars, and finally, due to the poor customer support I dropped my rating to 3 stars.
Live video from yesterday!
In a word.... Don't!
Bought the app while mobile to try to avoid a traffic jam. Found, as others have mentioned, that this app. hardly provides live traffic. Found that cameras on I40 outside Raleigh showed either nothing significant as far as traffic, or displayed some message about being disabled. Turns out that the issue was not Trafficland's feed, but whatever the people who sold this app were doing to entice you to spend more money - the link reminding you that "faster" updates can be had for a cost is always visible. As far as the old/no video, when I had someone else in the car use a win mobile device go to Trafficland's web site, the parking lot on I40 showed up just fine. Need to convince trafficland to pull the ad for this, as it's just a way for this guy to swipe a buck from you.
Also, Wilmington, nc... Paid for fast updates. Cameras were green, which means they should give fast updates. Never worked, and now cameras are red.
Incomplete and dysfunctional app
This app has good intentions but it does not deliver. While it shows lots of cams in certain areas of NJ, its really underpowered in other areas such as 287 and 80. Only a few cams of the dozens listed on the DOT website for these major roads can be found here. And it's difficult to find a specific cam due to the lack of a search function. You can list available cams by proximity to your location or by name but you can't ask for all cams on any given road. Rather, it is necessary to hunt for the cam you want to see by using their convoluted organization by major cities. I paid extra for the fast update feature. What a disappointment. Rarely will you see anything close to the advertised 5 second updating. Mostly the images are static so don't waste your money on the upgrade. I hope future revisions to this app will correct these problems. Until then I can only give it 2 stars.
