*Send money internationally*
Traditional providers like banks and PayPal might mark up your exchange rate, or charge you high fees, or both. At TransferWise, we do neither. You always get the real exchange rate, for a low, upfront fee, when you send money to over 70 countries.

*Spend money internationally*
Your free multi-currency account will let you hold over 40 currencies at once and convert between them – at the real rate – whenever you want. (Go to "Balances".)

*Receive money internationally*
Your account gives you bank details for the UK, US, Eurozone, and Australia – so you can get paid from those places with zero fees.

*Do it all on your own time*
Think of this app as your international finance dashboard – available anytime, any place. It will also keep you updated on your transactions with push notifications, and let you log in to your account with Touch or Face ID.

Bye bye bank fees, hello world.

What’s New

Version 4.21.3

What do we say to the God of Updates? Yes, today:
— Due to a technical error with our calendar, some of you used to see your birthday as being centuries ago, even before the rise of Valyria. Now it will look normal.
— Now, after new users register, the app will ask them what they'd like to use TransferWise for specifically. Then, like a three-eyed raven, it will guide them to the right features.
— Finally, if a new user doesn't do anything after opening the app for the first time, they'll get a survey asking them how we can improve our service. iOS maesters are standing by.

Editors’ Notes

Sending money to friends and family in other countries can be a pricey proposition, unless you can find a way to avoid the unfavorable currency exchange rates set by banks. TransferWise uses the standard exchange rate—not your bank’s—when you wire money abroad. It’s remarkably streamlined and easy to use, especially for frequent transfers, and it’ll save you plenty of dollars, pounds, euros, zloty…whatever money means to you.

The BEST Money Transfer “Service” and App available..,

I must send regular money transfers abroad, to a country my significant other & I solely serve & provide free medical care to the extreme poor in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. As a physician, this allows him to purchase the myriad of medical supplies we need before I arrive. I’ve tried all of the “others”- Trans Union, Money Gram, etc..I’ve had nothing but nightmares with them all. Additionally, their prices per transfer range around $50-$60 & at times these companies have declined to send my money! I used my nursing research skills & found exceptional reviews regarding Transferwise. As a Transferwise customer for 6 months, I can tell you this company, their app & their WONDERFUL TEAM MEMBERS make transferring money as smooth as silk. Additionally, I pay usually &3.20 USD PER TRANSFER using my Apple Pay account!! The money is in my significant other’s account within 3 days, at the longest (that’s because his bank is slow to process money transfers, not Transferwise. If I have any question or issues I either call a Team member (ASAP issues), or write to a Team Member on their site & will hear back within 2 hours with a resolution.
Do not bother to waste your time with any other App available- I’ve tried them all & have always encountered one or more significant issues. In my 6 months with Transferwise NOT ONE ISSUE! Many kudos & thank you’s to Transferwise to treating your customers like gold!

App works well, needs a couple features

I have very few complaints with TransferWise and this app. It generally works as advertised and I have used it for a number of months now with few problems. One glitch is TransferWise’s interface with banks (U.S., at least), which sometimes does not recognize your account has been verified and asks to reverify it by confirming a couple of micro-deposits - a process which can take several days. However, if you cancel the transfer which prompted the request to reverify, then try it again, this has always resulted in a successful transfer on the second attempt for me. Both the app and desktop version of TransferWise also have trouble sometimes dealing with verification questions used by many banks. One additional feature which would be useful for the app (essential, in my opinion, for a 5-star rating) is the ability to download a pdf receipt for a transfer, showing all relevant account information and date/time of the transfer events, as you can from the desktop web site. Despite the above issues, I’m satisfied with my experience and TransferWise is an excellent alternative to international bank wires, especially for smaller amounts.
