Not iPod/off network friendly; slow to add photos.
While I like this app, like so many photo apps like this, if you are not already connected to 3G/4G or somewhere with a lot of wifi networks, getting locations for your photos won't happen on your non-network device. So you will need to add those all by hand later. Second, there is no batch add. I understand that the idea is journal and improve you photos, but when you are trying to take photos from a tour, this app just gets in the way of taking the photos, an then you have to add each photo one at a time. Please add a batch add to the app for those who either use a better camera for the photos, or that need to just take lots of photo and don't have the time too edit and journal at that time. This app is good, just still limited by the fact that GPS is still dependent on connecting/finding a network that will tell you it's ISP address, and that if you are trying to take lots of photos, one after another, you have to fight the edit hoops.
I rarely write reviews because I find apps mediocre. This app is fantastic! I love that I can add pictures on the go, as well as from my computer. I love that even if I edit the photo in a different editor, it still remembers the location and time (sometimes it doesn't, but it might be one picture for every 20 that's not remembered!). I loveeee that it puts the photos in chronological or reverse chronological order! What a great way o capture and share your trip with others! I purchased the full app and can't wait to see what it has to offer. I'd love different user interface designs for the creator to display my albums. Can't wait to see how TripColor improves because it's already awesome!
Can't even create an account
Very frustrating....this app sounds like it's worth a try, despite some clear flaws pointed out by other reviewers, but they "validate" an email so aggressively that even an Apple iCloud email is rejected.
Makes me nervous about investigating how well this app is programmed if they fail at such an early stage of using it.
update - well, I decided to give the app a try. Went for a short walk with the dog and used TripColor to blog my trip. Aaargh sums it up. Talk about an app in need of a streamlined user interface!
On my walk, to use TripColor:
1) get iPhone out of pocket, swipe to turn on, double click and select the app (same as any app, of course)
2) within TripColor: navigate to correct Trip (may not open to last trip because of prior crash)
3) tap the + button to add entry
4) click "Take Pic"
5) click to actually take the pic
6) click "Use Photo"
7) Click "done" or click an effect
8) click location (even if you haven't moved since the last pic)
9) select location....sigh
10) click caption
11) type caption
12) click something or other to finish?
OK - you get the idea....add in two crashes during a 30 minute one-mile walk, and you'll quickly NOT want to use TripColor to share the joy of what was a nice walk.
