TRIPTYCH: Tri-Alpha is an educational app inviting viewers to play with the alphabet in three languages: English, Greek and Hindi. Use the dynamic parallel interface to see multilingual letters with sounds, enter words in the text field in English and learn the closest matching glyphs in Greek and Hindi. See Trilingual Samples for selected common words in English that originate from Hindi and Greek terms. This app is a cognitive and intellectual game for children and life-long learners with interest in languages, and a stunning visual and aural celebration of commonality and differences among the tri-lingual alphabet. Bold touch-scrolling glyphs create a rich visual engagement with lingual scripts and typography. The mixed alphabet sounds present a new kind of musical sound sampling. The aim is to introduce a multilingual intelligence where we learn to become familiar with words that look different and sound foreign.
Few bugs, missing features
App crashes on iPhone 4S - iOS 6.1 (10B142)
1. Intro screen is annoying.
2. Should be an option to export/copy input and output text. I want my name in Greek and the paste it on my email.
3. Maybe add an options panel.
Needs a few bug fixes, otherwise it's a cool App
Ignores the volume button. Epic fail.
