Great for iPad, skip it for iPhone

If the iPhone version of True Compass had all the features of the iPad version (display of maps on main screen, locale and destination information etc) it might be worth it on iPhone. On iPad, those features make this app worthwhile, and I'd use it even if iPad had the iPhone's compass app.

Remember to take the SmartCover off, or else it throws the magnetometer out of whack!

Small gripe: app requires location services on all the time (even in the background) in order to show true (rather than magnetic) north.

Waste of memory space

The APP is worthless. Set it next to an actual compass and it is easy to see how VERY inaccurate it is. It never gives the same result twice in a row. I use aviation software and I thought it might be an adjunct, but it really uses a lot of available memory just to sit there, not counting when it is active slowing everything down. Cute graphics, but about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Cute. But once you've dropped a pin how do you get rid of it? Have tried all the usual methods to remove a pin but none work. And the instructions are absolutely useless. In view of their strong warning not to rely on their accuracy you've got to ask 'so what's the point?'. The basic idea of the app is interesting but as it is now, cute is the only word that comes to mind.
