Don’t opt for the discounted bill service they offer!

I set up my account with them and requested to have my bill lowered through their service and it was all a lie. They told me they would lower my monthly bill while keeping my same phone service quality but they in fact lowered my phone service quality to achieve my lowered monthly bill and then charged me for doing so. After I fixed the mess they did, I asked them for a refund and they said they couldn’t do so because they had done their part of the service. I got in contact with an AT&T representative who told me that all true bill did was lower my phone quality to achieve a lower phone bill and when I contacted their support team about it, no one responded to me for months. When i finally got a response they told me I was wrong and that there was nothing they could do. I had to send them screenshots of my AT&T phone bill and statements from my AT&T phone bill showing exactly what they had done and how it affected my service until they finally gave me my refund. It wasn’t the money, it was the principal. They promised something and when they didn’t fall through with their promise they denied it. The amount of the refund wasn’t the problem. The problem was that they were shady and untrue to their word. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, please don’t. Save your time.

Really sorry for the confusion and frustration here. It's our policy to never downgrade or negatively impact services, so there must have been a miscommunication between our negotiators and AT&T. I'm glad we were able to get this straightened out and offer you a refund.

Why did you charge me $20???

Truebill your advertising services state that this a free app and you will charge me 40% of any money’s you save me on my bills. I am perfectly fine with that, however what I’m not fine with the fact that after I signed up you charged me $20, and I do not know why. I have contacted you directly through the customer services contact link on your website, and now almost two weeks later I STILL have not received any response from you guys about this or any explanation/legitimate reason why you charged me $20. I waited two weeks before giving you this review because I wanted to give you the chance to make it right. Not responding to your customers when they have inquiries about charges on their accounts is unacceptable. If there is a legitimate reason for this, fine but it should at least be explained to me when I inquire about it. None of my bills have been lowered so why am I being charged $20? Please explain this. I’m trying to avoid doing a chargeback was my bank, but if I don’t hear back I guess that’s the route I’m going to have to take on this.

Hi Shay! Sorry for any confusion here. The $20 was not a charge but rather a Pre-auth to make sure the payment method for the bill would be approved for payment. It automatically drops off your card in the case where we don't earn you any savings. Bill negotiations are strictly success fee based and we charge 40% of the first year's savings. If for any reason the $20 is still showing on your card please let us know at support@truebill.com and we'll take care of it asap!

App has turned awful and support never replies

This app used to be a decent finance app for keeping my monthly spending in line. My rent never showed up on the monthly bills (even though it was the most expensive and paid every month at the same time. Must have been real hard to recognize Truebill 🙄). I brought this up to support and they replied asking me how it appeared on my bank account, I replied, then they never did. After 1 month they never replied. I messaged them again and they never replied to that either. On top of that, my account has been continuously getting un-synced. I have to put my bank account info in each day to “re-sync” it (I put it in quotes because even after re-syncing it DAILY my account still showed the same amount spent each day, my monthly spent line had leveled out and stopped responding to my bank account actions). Was a great app at first but after a while it just stopped working all together, and support just doesn’t respond. Thanks for the first 2 months of a good app, but get your act together because the app is going down the drain.
