Good for blogging on a rush
I said rush because normally you'd want to have all the options when posting anything in your blog but the app doesn't give editing and other features justice. the video player has been thankfully fixed but when I am viewing pictures in text posts or pictures added to posts in full screen and try to swipe to the next picture it sometimes gets me stuck in the picture and I have to exit the full screen mood and tab the picture again to do so. sometimes it even locks me in the picture until I shut down the app and open it again making me lose the page I was on or where I was in the feed. double tapping pictures in text posts or pictures added to posts by comments after entering full view doesn't zoom into the picture unlike the other pictures when viewed in full view. switching between the profile tab and the activity tab wasn't necessary at all but I guess it makes more sense for the profile to be the last in the tabs. I tab the option that tells not to view any tips whenever a tip shows up but I still get them. I don't need to be reminded how to reblog 5 times in a day. please spare me. otherwise I think it does its job but I still can't figure out how to delete subblogs from the app
This crashing/not logging in thing is a pretty serious problem..
I love the mobile app, and while it could use more updates to facilitate the experience as a whole (too much refreshing, losing posts, sucky messaging system), it does pretty well functioning on its own... The crashing, however is enough to make you not use it at all. There have been two times where I wasn't able to sign back on after the app repeatedly crashed. The first time, my blog completely malfunctioned no matter the device.. Wasn't able to use it on my iOS app, kindle, or PC. The second time didn't do as much damage, but I had to delete the app again. Now, two days later, it seems to be back to normal. I hope this will be the last of this mishap because if I lose my new blog I had to create after the first went haywire, I'll be going to another host or just stopping completely. I'd hate to, because tumblr is currently my favorite website, overall.
I've had tumblr for almost exactly 4 years and I've never had an issue with the mobile app until those recent update. I love all the new features, don't get me wrong. However, the app closes/freezes at random. I HATE the auto refresh because I'll see a post that I'm interested in and then it's like gone "forever." Also, today I was logged out of my app out of nowhere and was unable to log back in. I would type in my email and password and it wouldn't work. And when I tried to change my password to see if it would work it said that my email wasn't recognize. I'm still logged in on my computer but what the heck guys? I even restarted my phone and deleted the app and re-downloaded it and I still couldn't log in. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Yall need to fix this.
