Tumblr is a place to discover and post about stuff you love, and join communities of people who love that same stuff. It’s pretty neat.
Q: What can I post on Tumblr?
A: Photos, videos, live videos, songs, text—pretty much anything.
Q: Can I make gifs?
A: Yes, you CAN make gifs! You can make them out of videos, bursts, live photos, or just shoot them on the spot.
Q: What’s the deal with “reblogging”?
A: It’s a way to take the stuff you find on Tumblr and make it your own. You can repost other people’s posts to your own blog. You can add commentary if you like. Other people can do the same with your posts. That’s how ideas spread on Tumblr, and it’s how communities form around them.
Q: Who’s on Tumblr?
A: People who are posting and reblogging about interesting stuff that you’re interested in. Politics. Movies. Memes and such. If you’ve ever seen anything interesting on the internet, chances are it came from Tumblr.
Q: How do I talk to people on Tumblr?
A: A few different ways. You can comment on a post, or you can reblog a post to your own Tumblr and add commentary, or you can send a private message. Whatever suits the occasion.
Q: How do I find stuff to follow?
A: Search for whatever you’re interested in. We’ll show you great posts about that stuff, and get you following the people who make those posts. Oh, you can also follow a search itself, and we’ll put sift the best material from that search right into your dashboard.
Q: What kind of stuff are people talking about on Tumblr *right now*?
A: Whatever’s happening in the world. The real world, the world of fiction, the world of pop culture, the world of academics, the world of safety and justice, the world of sports. Whatever world you live in, you’ll find it among all the trending topics in the search tab.
Q: Do all Tumblrs look the same?
A: No! You can totally customize your Tumblr’s appearance, right down to the colors and fonts you use.
Q: How will people find my Tumblr?
A: Tag your posts. Tumblr is full of passionate communities of people who are constantly searching through tags for new posts about stuff they love. Your stuff could be that stuff.
Q: Am I ready to download Tumblr, deepen my perspective, and forever change the way I think?
What's New in Version 9.0
For those who crave speed, there is Tumblr 9.
• What? Jump straight to search field from anywhere in the app, skipping the explore screen and all that.
• How? Long-press on the search icon (the little magnifying glass) at the bottom of the screen.
um w h a t
I've been using Tumblr for years, but I can't even log in anymore, it keeps saying I got the password wrong. So, I changed my password multiple times; still doesn't work. I really give up on this mobile version, it's annoying and there are tons of bugs, the way it is set up is just a mess, posts are recommended to me that are from blogs I don't follow that I don't care about; they should just have a button to stop this, this crashes non-stop, every time I liked a post the app would freeze for a while or just crash.
Literally this has so many problems that I could go on and on in detail and have so many pages it would be the size of a Harry Potter novel. It's like they don't even test the mobile version before they release it. At this point, if they are testing it before they release it- they should just say they don't test it at all, since it's THAT bad.
I don't like writing negative reviews, to be honest this is my first review with a 1 star... but this deserved it, this has been going on for months. I think they should get good professionals to squish the bugs, y'all just making it worse.
Long time user unhappy with update
So I've been on Tumblr for about 10 years now, and the latest iOS app update is the worst! I manage multiple blogs on one account and little things about the update slow me down. I like everything I want to reblog, and go back through my likes later and reblog to many different blogs linked with my account. Now it doesn't stay on one specific blog for multiple reblogs. It resets every time to my main blog so I have to switch every time. Especially if I want to add tags or add to the post. This was one of my favorite features about the app vs. desktop. I know I can hold down the reblog button to post to different blogs... but I add tags to almost every post. I love tumblr, but this update is not very good...
Bugs are not listening
Try fixing these bugs:
-This app crashes everyday & I have to redownload it every time cause it won't open, I end up losing my place on my feed, I keep getting asked each time how I feel about this app each time I download it and I select the sad face every time
-I'll make a post on the app and it is nowhere to be found. Causing me to recreate the post (three times at one point) to get it posted to my blog
-Original posts posting multiple times
-Captions deleting after posting saved posts from my drafts
-posts showing out of order on my feed
-innocent posts being marked NSFW(safe mode is just too sensitive when it comes to posts and tags)
App needs improvement, using it still, cause it's faster than the website.
Updates are being done to add new features but the problems still remain
Also can you add the feature to remove comments that have nothing to do with the original caption and being able to add photos or GIF's to a text post
