"Tunebox has been around for a while, but a recent redesign really makes it shine." - Lifehacker

Tunebox organizes the music in your Dropbox account, so you can browse by artist, album or song, and play with a full featured plmusic player.

The first time you run Tunebox, it asks you to help it find the folder where you keep your music. Then it finds all the audio files, indexes and organizes them for you. Start listening to music while it's doing this, and when it's done, you'll have your whole library on the go.

To use Tunebox's new offline mode, just tap the icon next to a song to save it for offline play. At the bottom of any album or directory, see how many of the songs are saved for offline, and save them all at once. Swipe a song or album to remove from your device.

What's New in Version 2.9

We've worked hard to refine and make this the best version of Tunebox ever. In this update:

- Filtering: only show music in a particular folder in your Dropbox. (Change this on the settings screen)
- Tunebox now remembers your currently playing songs and position. Come back and pick up exactly where you left off!
- View your download queue and see what's downloading for offline play. (Also in settings)
- Fixed: if you experienced blank Artists/Albums/Songs lists, this should no longer occur.
- Less review nagging (sorry about that!)

As ever, if you enjoy using Tunebox we'd love it if you took a moment and left a rating in the App Store. We're a small company, and positive ratings make a big difference to us and — no joke — even help us stay in business.

Special thanks to Alain Adler, Matthew Bombyk, and Chris Pfleghaar for their indispensable help fixing a tricky bug.

Skeptical, now Satisfied

I was very skeptical this app would work at all since so many like it fail so miserably. Installed app and had music playing within 2 minutes. The app requests access to only audio files (not all your Dropbox files) which is a plus for peace-of-mind. You can select to only display audio and video files in a specific folder rather than your entire Dropbox. I have my iTunes folder in my Dropbox so I can now stream my entire iTunes library from anywhere! You can also save entire albums offline in one click. Totally cool app, and worth the $5. My only criticism is I wish the scrubbing had variable degree options like the stock Music app (move finger down the screen, the scrubbing gets finer). Definitely recommend this app!!

A few issues

I started by moving my entire music folder into Dropbox, which then took several days to sync as I had about 30 GB of music stored. When I opened Tunebox and synced it with my Dropbox account, I noticed some albums appeared in their proper folders while with others, each song in the album is in its own folder. So for example, Ken Burns Jazz, Disc1 is listed with each track separately even though it is not that way in Dropbox. Something is wrong with this app and at this point, I'm wondering if I will really be able to use this app very much. Also, it would be nice to see the album covers. Only one so far has that.

Love the Tunebox app

I've been using it for over a year now, and it plays music flawlessly. I once contacted the developer with a question, and received an immediate reply. I like using the file structure to navigate, because I know how I have named and saved everything. Could not give it a higher rating. It has never crashed or had any performance problems for me.
