CNET: "Watching March Madness in a crowded bar? You need this app!"
Now you can tune-in wherever you go! TUNITY is a FREE app that allows you to hear any muted, live TV’s audio directly on your mobile device. Simply scan the TV, let Tunity locate the channel and stream the audio through your headphones or bluetooth speaker.
Where Should I Use Tunity?
To put it simply—ANYWHERE!
BARS & RESTAURANTS – Next time you're at a sports bar, hear all the action from the game YOU want to hear!
GYMS – Tune in to any TV and move freely about the gym without disconnecting!
UNIVERSITIES – If your roommate is asleep or studying, Tunity lets you watch TV without disturbing them!
WAITING AREAS, AIRPORTS, HOSPITALS – Don’t just stare at a muted TV when you can pass the time by fully tuning in to whatever it is you’re watching!
HEARING IMPAIRED – Those with a hearing impairment can listen to the TV at a volume that works best for them, without affecting anyone else in the room!
Don't just take our word for it:
Ryan Hoover - Founder, Product Hunt: "Really clever. This would be a great companion at the gym to listen to muted TV's in front of rows of elliptical machines"
CNET: "Tunity streams TV audio to your smartphone…and it's darn cool…the app has the potential to be a huge hit"
Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. We've optimized Tunity to only use your GPS at very specific moments and for the minimal amount of time needed.

At an airport, variable delay
Saw the sign to “hear this TV” and decided try the app. Tried syncing at least 8 times, and it seems completely unable to lock on to the channel (CBS) that is on. Tried searching directly for the channel, you can type in the first character, and the app locks up when typing “b” for CBS. Locks up and then crashes. Seems like a nice idea, completely worthless execution.
How about letting us search for the channel manually?
Edit: The next two times I was at an airport I decided to give it a try again, not sure if I downloaded the same version or a new were version because I had deleted it after the previous attempt. This time everything locked in quick enough, but I noticed that I had to keep adjusting the delay because it seemed that it kept on wandering. Only one out of the three times that I have tried this app has it been successful listening to a TV at an airport. I’ll probably keep trying just because of boredom while waiting for planes. As a media professional I am extremely adept at detecting sync issues between audio and video, so what I was adjusting may not bother other people.
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. It would be very helpful if you could provide some additional info. Could you write us to email@example.com with subject: "Follow up on app store review [tunity user name]? We really want to solve this for you. Thanks! We'll help get Tunity working for you.
Idea==good, implementation not so much
I agree with another reviewer that the requirement for location services is an annoying inconvenience. I don’t even like the requirement to find a screen every day to scan at the gym before I can listen to the audio associated with that TV channel. On a busy day, it isn’t even always possible to find a free cardio machine to use for my scan. A nice feature would be for me to simply enter the call sign of the station each time I visit the gym and want to listen to the audio, perhaps after a one-time setup-type scan of the screen. Repeating each step on each visit to the gym gets to be a drag.
Thanks for reaching out. We recently released a new version of Tunity that allows you to set your location at “While Using App”. And thank you for your suggestion, we are always trying to improve our technology. Happy scanning!
I was just telling A bartender of that I wish there was an app that I can hear sound on the TV while I am at a bar. I search for this app, downloaded it and I cannot believe it but it works! This is one of those things that I just can’t believe works and I expect that they will find a way to make it stop working very soon. Download it while you can!
Thank you! Happy scanning!
