Description

The best BPM tapper for the Mac, now supporting the new Music app on MacOS Catalina, while maintaining support for iTunes on earlier systems.

Work your way through your entire Music/iTunes music library quickly and efficiently, or tap out songs as they come up with minimal disruption to your workflow.

Let Turnover help generate playlists in specific BPM ranges for fixed-tempo workouts, including 180 steps-per-minute playlists for efficient running.

FAST AND EFFICIENT

- Full-featured Music/iTunes controller.
- Work through playlists without ever switching to Music/iTunes.
- Tap, save, jump well into the next track, and keep on tapping. It's that simple.

Turnover allows you to tap out the BPM for entire playlists with nothing more than continuous taps of the Return key. And rather than having to wait for each new track to get going, Turnover can automatically jump ahead so you can continue tapping without interruption.

TAP AS NEEDED

- Supports notifications when the currently playing song has a missing or unconfirmed BPM.
- Global hotkey to activate Turnover.

Once notified, hit your global hotkey, tap out the BPM, and let Turnover bring you right back whence you came. A few brief taps and you'll be right back at the task at hand.

OUTSTANDING FEATURES

- Optionally ignore BPM values guesstimated by beat analysis software.
- Rules to manage playlists.
- Various notification mechanisms.
- Customizable keyboard shortcuts for mouse-free operation.
- Immediate detection of tapping errors, never a need to wait or "reset" tapping.
- Built-in metronome, allowing for the fine adjustment of BPM playback
- Several musical instrument “tap” sounds to choose from.

TURNOVER… UH, WHAT'S THAT?

An avid runner, the author of this software needed a tool to help build playlists in the 180 BPM range, a cadence, or rate of turnover, deemed most efficient for running. With thousands of songs to contend with, and existing BPM tappers not quite up to the challenge, this project was born. So if you're looking to "improve your turnover", this is the perfect tool to help you build the necessary playlists.

Works great with one intermittent issue

I really like this app, as it provides the ease, functionality and control that I crave.
Issue:
When I use Turnover to post a BPM value to a track in the Music app, it occasionally interrupts playthrough of the track computerwide for a split second. This is not good if I'm playing for a group. I have not figured out if there is a pattern to this interruption, but it may be related to the 'Play sound with each tap' function being enabled.

Well designed app

After I was no longer able to use the marvelous old iTunes-BPM Inspector by Blacktree, because it wasn't compatible with Lion, I tried pretty well every BPM product out there. This one did the best job overall, at a reasonable price point. The only complaint is that it won't deal with values below 20. As a dance DJ, we deal in "bars per minute" rather than beats per minute, and many pieces of music are under 20 bars per minute, so the app doesn't support those. Fix that and it's a five-star app.

A Fine App

This works well for my use. I’ve found bmp finders in the past that calculate automatically and are just way too inaccurate so i prefer something i can tap out myself. I was annoyed with the sounds that this makes when you tap, until i realized that i could change the sounds (i just went to silent).
