Ratings and Reviews
Essential app for TV show maniacs.
When I switched to the iPhone a year ago, I was sad ‘cause my go-to app then for TV show tracking, SeriesGuide, was not available on iOS. So naturally, I searched for an alternative and found TV Time. I cannot say it enough in how many ways it’s far more superior than any other app in its category. The Watchlist tabs provides for an easy way to see what you gotta watch, the calendar view makes it really easy when the next episode of your favorite show is gonna air, the profile tab makes it easy to customize how you show up in the app’s social network. Now about the social network! Before using TV Time, tv show nerds had to resort to groups on various social network that you had to a lot of digging to find, to join the fandom. Now, you just got an amazing social networking experience inside the app that is incredibly easy to talk about your favorite tv show with an entire community. Also, the explore tab has been really important to me, cause I don’t have to sit down and spend time reading reviews of new tv shows, I just start watching! Kudos to the developer, you’re awesome! I mean, I feel a little bad it’s free..
Fantastic App That’s Slightly Less Fantastic Now
I love this app and use it almost every day. Before the most recent update this would have been a 5 for sure but for some reason the app has taken a huge step back in functionality and appearance. All the categories are separated into different tabs instead of being together on one page for easy accessibility. Once you click on a tab all your shows are shown with huge pictures that take up way too much space, forcing you to scroll more to look at everything. I don’t understand the difference between Haven’t Seen and Watch Later and am frustrated that now the shows I want to keep track of for later are spread out in two places for no reason. I HATE how clicking a show as watched automatically pops up a window trying to get me to rate it; if I wanted to do that, I would. Don’t add an extra step into something that should be easy! And everything looks so busy that it’s an eyesore. I loved how simple and easy it was to use the old profile page and I’ve been trying to look for a way to roll back to that earlier version all day. I’m going to try to be patient while the developers are fiddling with this new update but it’s almost unusable for me now and that’s very frustrating.

Edit: Know that the recent update even further turned this app to mush. To the point it isn't even working properly on the most recent update on my iPhone x running ios 12. I don't know why the developers continue to change the UI at the sake of the UX. It's a shame. I really liked this app. Going to delete it.
Previous: The interface was efficient and streamlined before the most recent update as per the date of this post. Now you must individually go to each episode to mark them as watched and wait for load times for a now bloated app looking to increase its UI design rather than add additional features. It’s always been an app that by design promotes a more social network vibe based around tv so I didn’t give it a completely useless rating. Know what you're getting into first. The design of the app has great features but the interface is now clunky. For something that is supposed to save you time, you end up spending as much time updating your calendar as you would watching an episode of the show your updating. Overall it’s a decent app, I just wish it focused on its main objective rather than the trend of socializing every app. I have friends, so I don’t need an online community to discuss a show with, just an inventory system to keep track of what I’ve watched, what I’ve missed, and what I might miss.
