TV Guru is a simple app for tracking viewed episodes of television series. It does this job well. You type in the title of a series and after a second or two it appears with information such as total number of seasons, current status of the series (cancelled, returning, ended), and titles for each episode along with a brief synopsis. Simple tap the episode you have viewed to check it off.
My use of TV Guru has been a pleasant one - no crashes as some have discussed. It would be nice if it could automatically track shows I view on streaming services for me, but that's a nitpick item I suppose :) Tomato Interactive has continued to impress me with the Apps they release, and this doesn't disappoint.
If you are looking for a no flash, no frills app that lets you keep track of what you have and haven't watched of your favorite series, TV Guru is a nice selection.
Very simple and easy to use for the most part and found all of my shows to track with no real problems. iCloud sync works but there's a bit of a delay and sometimes it just refuses to sync checked episodes unless I create a folder or add a new show to force a sync. Some features I'd like to see are cover art for shows, the abillity to hide checked episodes, and a setting to not include unaired episodes in unwatched episode counts or atleast putting the unaired episodes in parentheses or something. Overall I'd say this is the perfect app for what I was looking for which was a way to keep track of what episodes I missed without going over the top in graphical stuff.
No longer working
It's working pretty good so far. I've run into only two shows that wont seem to add. Southland and Fringe. It keeps telling me it's waiting to add the episodes. Also I'd like to see a few more options, like maybe the option to move a show from one folder to another. Or the ability to hide the episodes I've seen. All in all, this app has great potential.
******* Update ********
App stopped working for me a long while back. I thought maybe it was just me but just saw another review stating the same thing. Just shows splash screen then crashes. This was happening before and after the iOS 6 update on my iPhone 4S, first gen iPad, and now my iPhone 5. Not sure what made it stop, there was no update to the app or iOS before it stopped working. Started using TV Show Tracker which is working pretty good.
