A handheld guitar, with serious expressive power!

• Strum, pluck, and chord the strings
• Easier to play than a real guitar
• Record, save, and share songs with friends
• 32-bit physical modeling sounds great
• Includes chord chart and Pachelbel's Canon notation

Harness the power of Twang — hold the device with your left hand, and strum with your right. Search for "Twang iPhone" on YouTube to see videos of Twang in action.

Twang can be played like a real instrument. Twang is velocity-sensitive: Slowly pluck a string, or strum rapidly, to create a different sound. Twang has an simple chording system, easier to learn than a real guitar.

Perfect!

Ok, so this doesn't use real guitar samples like some apps do but you know what? In this case that is actually a good thing because playing the modeled sound is much more flexible than triggering the same samples over and over would be. I was actually really surprised how expressive this instrument is. Not to mention you can play different chord movements within different keys. Also seeing the strings actually "twang" as the sound wav fluctuates is pretty cool. Get it now!

P.S. If it means anything, I'm a professional guitarist and composer and when I don't have my guitar around I've actually been using this to jam on to write song melodies and lyrics!

Pleasant Toy

This is a fun music app to play around with, but there are some definite problems. The strings don't sound particularly guitar-like, and the fact that they keep vibrating and producing noise well after being strummed makes the instrument sound more like a harp being plucked rather than a guitar being strummed. The instrument is difficult to hold, particularly with the volume buttons getting in the way as others have mentioned. I would like to see more options for instruments, such as electric guitar and ukulele. But as a 1.0 version this is pretty strong and I am looking forward to improvements.

Really fun and easy!

I've known music theory for many years but never had the dexterity or patience to learn an instrument. This was immediately accessible, yet it isn't just a toy. Nor is it a music game like Rock Star, etc. You are legitimately playing music.

There are a few minor enhancements I'd like to see...different guitar sounds, for example. And I find the grip a little awkward; I keep accidentally hitting the volume buttons.

But none of that should detract from what is a really groundbreaking app!
